I have an 08' Honda Fit 5 spd. and have inquired with Tanabe if their medalion touring axle-back system will fit my 08'. They are unable to answer, only to have fit this system to a 07'? Has anbody fit this system to an 08' and is it a direct fit? I have a replaceable K&N filter in it now, but looking for an exhaust system that is fairly quiet and gives a noticeable performance gain in the low and mid-range. Any suggestions other than the Tanabe?
Other than the TPMS, the '07 and '08 are the same. It should bolt right up.

honestly, an exhaust system by itself wont give you noticeable gains, unless of course you go with a header-back cat delete, which this isnt. you would really need some sort of FI to notice the gains from an exhaust. I would suggest a CAI or even SRI in order to start seeing some gains. An exhaust header would help too, both of which are relatively quiet.
I have the Tanabe on my 08, it is a direct fit. I also have a cold air intake, and there are noticeable (if modest) gains. Don't look for low to mid range though, all the changes are up high on the tach. For low and mid range you'll be needing FI sorry to say...

Thanks for your 08' fitment on the Tanabe. You make reference to FI, what is that? Has anyone had any luck with Megan axle-back systems? A lot cheaper, but how is the sound and workmanship?

If you want low end power get an SRI and the Weapon*R street headers.
I would definately say A-spec. They have great customer service, and their product is low in price and effective. I have their header, b-pipe, and axel-back and love the tone, and performance gains. They offer burnt and non-burnt tips. Comes out at a slight angle, just my persinal opinion.

Guys, I really appreciate all of the suggestions, which makes choices more difficult. But really, all I'm planning on doing now is just a nice, somewhat quiet axle back system along with my replacement K&N. After I get a few more miles on my new 08' Fit, I'll change over to CAI and if headers become C.A.R.B. approved, I'll entertain that. Any more suggestions are greatly appreciated!
i can't remember if the DC Sport header for the Fit is CARB approved, but most of their street headers are.
if you want quiet and subtle, go with megan if you're on a budget or tanabe touring medallion on a manageable budget. for a little bit more coin, t1r's 50s version 2 axleback is under 93db (decibles) and looks mad-seksi IMO
Does anyone have a sound clip of the T1R 50S Version 2.0 Sport Muffler? I notice that the mounting hangers on the muffler are opposite of one another? Does this present a problem mounting it on a Fit?
I had an 07 Auto Sport and traded in to a 08 Base Man. I switched the the intake (Fujita) and axle-back (Tanabe) both were installed in under 30 minutes and sound nice. Not too loud but still allow good flow. I'd go with the original idea of this post. Tanabe. Then move up from there.... Small steps grass hopper!
FI= Forced Induction, turbo or supercharger. Arisenfury is correct though, a SRI (short ram intake) and a 4-2-1 header will boost low and mid-range power. I get the feeling that you are in the same boat as me though, want a few extra ponies without getting loud and obnoxious. SRIs tend to be pretty noisy, especially in traffic where large throttle openings are needed to keep up. I will be getting a header next spring after i do more research on which one will fit my noise requirements.

You are absolutely correct, with my 08' all I'm looking for right now is a little more power without waking up the neighbors. I may switch over to CAI instead of my replacement K&N and as it looks Tanabe Medalion Touring seems to be the axle-back of choice for low noise. What certified header are you considering? Also, is there A FI kit out there that works?
Remember, all the car has now is a K&N repalcement filter. How does the sound of the HKS axle-back compare with the Tanabe Medalion? Which is quieter? It appears that the HKS has a deeper sound?
