Black window frame tape removal

Has anyone removed the flat black window tape on the door frames surrounding the windows? If so does it look odd -- post some pics. Reason I'm asking is a portion of mine near the top is damaged so I peeled a bit off and I noticed that it has a factory finsih below it. It may look ok without the tape.

Get a heat gun to heat it up and it should peel right off

Not sure if the Honda is the same as my old Hyundai Elantra but its the only experience i have. The paint under the tape was extremely thin and could be buffed off with only one or two applications of cleaner wax so be careful. Also the paint wasn't as nicely finished as the rest of the car so it kinda stood out for the wrong reason...

I decided to fix the wrecked stuff used a heat gun to remove and reapply. Didn't want the white frame look as car has tinted windows.

The flat black on the window frames is a vinyl tape film. Reason I know is I had some come off because of a roof rack bracket rubbing on the top edge of the door. I removed the damaged film with a heat gun and reapplied some new film.

I never actually removed a bunch and I repaired the damaged part--sorry no pics. If I have to repair again I will take pics.
