FIT/JAZZ Turbo Open Discussion

OK you all need a place to discuss TURBOcharging... well here is is.
Please keep the discussion to GENERIC turbocharging discuss for FITS/JAZZ only. Please do not mentions SPECIFIC brand names of setups unless YOU HAVE ONE INSTALLED ON YOUR OWN FIT. We are not interested in what you did on your other cars so keep it FIT/Jazz specific.
But feel free to talk about all TYPES of turbos not just brand specific. Have fun

It seems like the s13 turbo is the common setup, the t25. No wait the gt35r! Wait no only the t25 is the only turbo I have seen used so far. Seems to be low on lag and good on power. So how bout those brewers....ehh?

Honda City (Fit Aria) IDS-i CVT

Sweet ride!!!
NE1 heard that the Jazz is coming up with the F1 style shift peddal ?

How different it would be to Turbo Charge the IDS-i Engine compared to the VTEC?

(you all probably wondering why bother, right? It's because I have a Honda City - that's Fit Aria / Jazz Sedan. It has more room in the engine bay to Turbo Charged it. If not can always throw it out for a K20A).

Turbocharging?

Anyone has turbocharged their Vtec/Idsi?

Im looking to swap a Vtec L15A (M) into my IDSI (A) and turbocharging it.

What turbo should i use? Do i have to change the internal parts of the engine? How much boost can the manual handle without blowing.

I'm writing this because i've not seen any posts on this. Everyone is talking about the K20A.

so far.. the L15A is better on turbocharge rather than IDSI...
and other thing L15A (CVT) is better than Manual.. for sumreason.. manual just quick on 1-2 gear.. but on cvt.. slow on 1st gear.. then 2-7 gear so much faster...

T25 is the common set up.. some people in aust using IHI (stock subaru turbo's).. personally i use GT25R (Upgraded version of S15 turbo).. i use these coz better power.. and make nice engine sound and turbo whirling sound (like Lamborghini)

Ok. So can i just turbocharge my Idsi? Since the internals of the Vtec and the Idsi are almost identical. Maybe i'll upgrade the pistons and rods?

u can try to turbocharge Idsi.. but is no point reallly.. coz idsi have 8 sparkies(2 in each cylinder) is mean.. when u turbo charge ur car.. u gonna ignite with 2 spark plug.. and u need hell lot of AIR and FUel to ignite the second one since the 1st one already sufficienct ... and idsi is for economy not for performance

I have all the parts for a turbo kit for my fit except the turbo . My friend was going to sell me a turbo from and Evo 3. I did research and discovered that Evo 3 used TD05 turbos. My question is would a TD05 turbo be too big for my engine?

Its a custom manifold that i had a shop made for me. I dunno what type of turbo its fits. I heard that i could get an adapter flange so that i could put on any turbo. But i couldnt find the actual size and A/R of a TD05 turbo and was wondering if that turbo would be too big?

TD05 isnt too big. its a 18G turbo. is it an internal or external wastegate?

regardless, it doesnt matter about the size, what matters is how you're going to be tuning the turbo setup? ie. engine management. that is the deciding factor of how your engine will last and perform.

i'm strongly against the use of piggybacks on Honda's. (having using them myself before and experiencing the adverse effects) Especially the newer generations. But if you had to, i recommend you use emanage ultimate over any apexi afc stuff. Mainly b/c ultimate has far better tuning capabilities than AFC (ie. igntion tuning, fuel maps run by separate MAP sensor, etc) and also even safety parameters against overboost.

Where could i find a custom turbo manifold for the L15 in Asia? Roughly how much would it cost?

Not sure whether this is the right thread to post in but please pardon me if i've post this in the wrong area.

Thanks.

Supercharge, or turbocharge the fit?

Ok here is my question. I am wanting to either supercharge, turbo charge or go all motor with the L15 motor. A k20 would be nice but I want to see what all I can get out of the L15. What is the pros and cons of supercharger and turbocharger for the fit? Which system will yield you more power? Is there an all motor option? Lastly is there any forged internals for the L15 motor or can you stroke it to a 1.8L? Let me know your thoughts guys.

lol, this type of thread always ends up in a pointless shouting match

But what the heck..... Go Supercharger!!! Solid powerband & no dreaded turbo lag!

Edit: lol, I love how little sense my post makes now that it has been condensed into other threads
