very good post.
don't get me wrong, its the power DELIVERY of the kwsc that i like; i much prefer the numbers on the tr1 turbo fo sho. (well at least until i see how the 135 whp from the tr1 compares to the auto version of the kwsc.)
and i totally agree about the efficiency, the kw simply is because of the nature of its being, and it is a better choice for those who want to set and forget.
but the price is stil an issue, and maybe a bit of turbo lag could in the end be worth it for the end numbers alone, we just have nothing to go on!
yee, let us know as soon as you can with your comparison. I'm not wanting to be the fastest, just faster.

Thanks. I will let you guys know as soon as things are up and running and if Illusive gets his hondata/highboost. I've ridden in his 5psi KWSC car, but he hasn't been able to push it hard..
I was worried about lag as well. But there really isn't much of it due to the nature of the AR48 turbo that comes with the kit. The turbo starts to spool at 2000 rpm and reaches peak boost at 3500 rpm. It is a much more "slap in your face" power delivery for sure compared to the KWSC.
But.. like most of us, this is all what i've read.. not experienced with the turbo. So, I will first hand be able to experience it soon enough and hopefully Illusive and myself can finally put this ever lasting debate to an end! It has only cost us almost $10,000 just to do a comparison.. but it'll be well worth it

That was with injectors, which nobody else got to work without CEL.

I should be in the neighborhood of 165hp/160ft lbs to the wheels (i hope ). Peak boost at just under 3500rpms and peak torque at 4000rpms.
So I'm sure it will be quite close between the 2 kits. The only power differences I can see is that the turbo will be at peak boost much earlier in the powerband than the SC. But that is still speculation.. no one has seen a dyno graph of the hondata and highboost combo.

rexxx dyno'd his car with the 5psi kit and peak boost was not until close to redline around 6200rpms. He was running base kit with skunk2 cat back and gained about 20 hp over stock.

sheesh, thats not a whole lot. interesting considering that the base kit makes at LEAST thirty over stock according to the kw dynos.
how has your kit been treating you leonine?

Yea i didnt hit 5lbs until it was nearly at redline. it was literally at 6480-649x, and it actually maxed out at 5.3lbs. Final HP was about 115, but i didnt have a before dyno, so theres no telling exactly how much i gained over stock, but im sure it was at least 20.
I was having a bit of fun on my way home today with a 90something Nissan Sentra with a Maxwell House exhaust (extra flavor )
The look on people faces makes every cent I've invested worth it.
HAHA OMG and the other day i was driving past the movie theater with my my gf in the car, and this guy goes "Wow! That car sounds like a spaceship!" We were ROLLING!

to see all of these numbers now really doesn't matter lol..... I just want to see the final numbers with the entire kit so high boost with hondata. Would like to see a dyno with stock exhaust and one with i/h/e.
To be more specific I am more interested in the auto kit cause my fit is auto

I've had everyone who's ridden in my car say the same thing!!
This weekend or next I think I'm going to switch out the stock hose clamps...still haven't gotten T-Bolts Really ought to...
Anyone roll the KWSC 5# with no muffler? If so, feedback? I like the sound, just gets a little annoying with a very noticeable exhaust note on long hauls. Plus takes away from the stealthiness and spaceship sound, but feels a little more responsive. Less of that bogging the more I put the throttle to the floor (still having that issue, I give up on troubleshooting it til Hondata).
