I believe it trips a CEL if it gets too high...

sorry dynamic, i was just trying to figure out if you had upgraded injectors or not. even if you didn't wait for the hondata, i bet the power wouldb even more impressive just with the injector upgrade.

i have heard that the mugen header makes great power for a bolt on though.

would that cause the car to go into limp mode? If it doesn't, i don't mind driving around with the CEL on

If I understand correctly, the system was designed so that the car does not see the boost. Probably something about CELs like the above poster mentioned, that I don't know.

The Scan gauge will see absolute pressure so 14.7 for ambient and then probably the 5 extra psi's if they are seen by the map sensor.

Since it was believed before that the map would not see boost, the scangauge would not have been able to give any reading of it.

well, the info would be valuable to the owners of the KWSC. Should anyone who owns the kit run into problems, having the solutions here or additional information would be a great benefit

Please don't delete...

Have some issues with the KWSC...gonna call Oscar and let him know about this.

Threw DTC's all day yesterday and today.
P0172 - Rich Fuel
put my WeaponR header on, deleted the muffler, cleared the code, and got the next one...

P0401 - EGR Flow Insufficient
double checked all tubes and pipes, everything was tight and clamped down. Cleared the code, and then got THIS one...

P2413 - EGR System Performance
wth??? Apparently all of them tend to mean rich or out of the air/fuel specs for the ECM.

Can anyone give me insight as to what might be causing these codes to appear?

kmdebit,

The EGR codes have nothing to do with the supercharger kit. Check your connections.

Have any of you MT guys with the kit installed had it installed by a shop/pro mechanic? I am not implying anything at all-- just curious. I know it's "simple bolt-on" (most accounts so far don't really confirm this though), but if you have no experience with this kind of mod, then there may be a little "feel factor" or nuance that a skilled pro may (or may not, I have to say) possess.

Maybe I am implying that these issues may be a result of not knowing a few of the little tweaks or potential problems ahead of time. Oscar, JDMChris and the other testers have just been so seemingly incident free, and those guys are real heavies in this industry-- you know they installed it 100% correctly.

This inquiry also comes from a guy that would never dream of putting this thing on himself-- I have a small race shop I deal with that are the only guys I'd trust-- they do this all day everyday. And of course I don't know your skill levels so please don't take offense. I just know from suspension-related install situations I dealt with, I heard of some "do-it-yourselfers" having more issues than the race shop when installing the exact same parts. The s/c seems far more involved.

Don't get mad! Just asking. Others may be on the fence about installing themselves versus taking to a shop, so just looking for a little input or perhaps some "hindsight" perspective from those pioneering souls who have gone before us.

The MAP clamp clamps voltage within the stock voltage range, so the ECU never sees excess pressure. The Honda ECU typically allows pressure to go as high as 3psi before throwing a CEL. Our unit clamps at about 115 kPa. If you get a MAP high voltage code, please check your connections. The Red wire should be T-Tapped to the Green/Red Wire and the Black to the Green/White Wire. Be sure that the male spade goes firmly into the female tap.

I've installed many kits before both turbo and SC so I was not new to this but I did find that bending brake lines and A/C lines was a bit out of the ordinary.

I understand it is necessary for a belt driven S/C though so I was ok with it.

I can't say that I am a big fan of the vacuum fitting on the supercard and see that even in the instructions silicone was used to make sure the line doesn't come off.

Illusive's cel is probably due to a rich condition as well as he is still using a cat. I am confident everything is plugged in properly everywhere, the instructions were followed for everything and all sensors were plugged back in before starting the car.

I absolutely agree that this is a great kit and knew I had the experience needed for a good install but I feel the S/C belt should be about 2mm shorter and that the supercard option pales in comparison to what the hondata reflash will offer.

I'm just going to throw this out there, but I have not had a single problem with the supercharger kit since I owned it. The only problem I currently have though is that they have not come out with the Hondata reflash yet, so I can put my header back on. Besides that kit is working AWESOME, stock car feel. Will have dyno charts in so you guys can see the powerband, after memorial day.
