I was searching around ebay and found that CP Pistons has come out with aftermarket pistons for the fit, this was new to me! 9.0 comp should be great for turbo applications. Now all we need is someone to develop rods and head studs and then we can have a built fit motor and maybe push some big numbers out of the little L.
forged internals are not what is important. trying to figure out a way to open up the little L series motor ports is what will unlease the real power. the head is what is restricting all our power.

im searching for a wrecked ge8. if i can get my hands on one i can run wall thickness tests and see how compatible it is with the gd3 L motor. is there any way around the exhaust system though? any pics?

they make a turbo kit for the r18 civics with just an adapter for the turbo and dowpipe. it can be done. just have to find someone who can/wants do it.

i think that porting is next to impossible is it not? i've heard that thats the biggest limiting factor as well. i do doubt anyone has done a kswap to a ge8 yet though, its too new. at least in the us.

Has anyone seen a Fit with pistons in it yet? I'd assume you'd be able to crank up the boost a few psi with the lower compression and make a couple more horses safely.
I want to see the compression ratio retained on the forged pistons!
What about rods? Why is this taking so long?
Most Honda rods that I have seen bend if you even look at them wrong!
I really don't see a very reliable 180 WHP without them.

kelsodeez is making 175hp realiable. the rods are very strong. j's racing is running high compression pistons in their track l15a jazz. there is a member in the philipines who has sleeved the block and is running forged pistons and connecting rods with the stock crank and is making just over 400hp.

I proposed this a while a while ago. The L series engine has the same stroke as the d16 and b18 series engines that have more aftermarket support for them. You could take aftermarket rods for a d or b series engine and with a little machine work, you could get them to fit with the l series crankshaft and pistons. Its been done with the d-series engines so why not see if it can work with the l-series engines.
