the housing on it is different, under the black cover, you can still feel the fins of a traditional intercooler. the cover guides the air from the cowl scoop into the intercooler, so fresh air all the time.
after speaking with oscar jr, he said that the intercooler does give a power increase and these can be put on the base kits and work with AT and MT

Now that's what I'm talking about. Hope to see some numbers of use on a base kit soon.
what exactly are your under-hood temps at WOT say from 2nd thru 3rd because i can say the temps get pretty f'in hot under there. I've hit 150 easy. That's with my header and down pipe wrapped. normal cruising on a 80 degree day is between 110-120. So the answer from my point of view is the fit could definately benefit from some form of cooling of the air charge. Next i am planning on getting a header blanket to see if that helps any. Plus that heat is also heating the oil in the pan. I'm pretty careful about not getting on it too much. Not that i need to now.
leo,
Those intake temps are pretty cool for forced induction, especially non-intercooled. Other forms of forced induction are 200+.

not all boost is created equal.

I have been called names for saying that.... My car did boil over and needed coolant added regularly to the overflow tank, since I put on the 5 PSI base kit I check it on a regular basis and it has maintained the same level for 2000 miles in 90 to 103 degree temperature..... The mixture seems a little rich but my plugs look fine.... My Volvo 760 Turbo always had the temp gauge on the edge of red line at 65 MPH even after richening the mixture.... It had a huge heat exchanger, a transmission cooler, oil cooler and very low compression ratio.
The public unveiling of the High-Boost package!! We are really excited about this product and have tried to incorporate as many features as possible.
The Fit High-Boost system includes all the necessary components, and requires no additional tuning. A true "bolt-on and go" high-boost system that takes advantage of the Rotrex's superior performance.
The Fit High-Boost system is the first and only Hondata reflash for the Fit. This system uses 310cc injectors and includes plug and play connectors for easy installation.
• Hondata/KraftWerks ECU Reflash
o Adjust Fuel
o Adjust Timing
o Insert Boost Tables
o Revised VTEC
o Removed Speed Governor
o Injector Compensation
o Closed Loop Fuel (Increase Fuel Efficiency)
• Flowed 310cc Injectors
• KraftWerks Plug and Play Connectors
This kit comes with a pre-paid shipping box to Hondata. The ECU is shipped overnight to Hondata for its reflash, and shipped overnight back to you. You will not be going through any Hondata dealers to complete this flash.
The intercooler is also a big addition to these systems. The Fit intercooler is made from the same cores as our S2000 systems and is an extremely efficient design. We discovered that the Fit did not require a large intercooler during testing, and was better off with the smaller intercooler. This allowed us to size this unit in the engine compartment, and not have to pipe the system to the front.
We designed the system to fit JDM front end and USDM front end Fits. No fog lights being cut out, no trimming. The cowl system is what makes this system stand out from the rest. The cowl system blows high pressure air over the intercooler, basically simulating a front mount system. The KraftWerks cowl plugs right into the factory removable cowl piece, with no cutting needed.
We will be putting updates to our website on the kit, dyno results, and its release. A KraftWerks High-Boost Fit this weekend made 170whp/142wtq with header and exhaust in front of the SoCal FitFreaks!

and the million dollar question is.....Does the High boost kit work for the Autos?
lol i would be sold if that was the case!
honestly a 'mid boost' (maybe 7psi?) with hondata and i/c for the a/t putting out around 135-150whp would have me sold.
edit: crap! anyone check out the new tech article on the kraftwerks website on spark plugs? their a/t boosted fit is putting out 118lb-ft of torque with a simple spark plug upgrade! thats insane!
kraftwerks great job on the numbers for highboost as well. now get those pics up!

the cowl induction is a really good idea, i'm really liking this kit, hopefully there will be an AT kit available since it seems like leo is not having any issues running 10lbs

I think that the car that was dynoed that gave those results belongs to koi.
