So here's a teaser of the current design with some super high-tech MS paint touch-ups, Intake components in blue (BOV, FMIC, IM, Compressors), Exhaust components in red (WGs, EM, Turbines):



The Primary (large turbo) is mounted over the transmission and as you may be able to guess I will be plumbing an aluminum or fiberglass intake tube from the cowl induction spot under the wiper blades.

The secondary (small turbo) is located in the back of the block. I have a ghosted image near to scale of the intercooler in the front "elevation" perspective.

So after scrapping the initial layout where the small turbo's compressor inlet was also facing the passenger side, I will be having a new manifold and interstage pipe with bushed bracings made. The stock intake box obviously will be out of the way, and the battery will be relocated to the trunk as well.

A couple more Fit parts have trickled in with the final touches for the race car.. we are getting close!

Brembo Rotors, Hawk HPS Pads, Motul DOT 5.1 and Goodridge SS lines I should really re-finish the calipers and rear drums..:

So after a couple months of some intensive maths and sketching, I've finally found a way to make this work with even better spool up of the primary stage and without the surge that would be inevitable with the 61mm garrett.

But it will add a further level of complexity and many of you will either balk at it or say stupid/impossible.

More parts are on the way, and brownie points to whoever can guess what my solution for the primary compression stage issues were!

Certiainly one way, but it doesn't take care of the surge issues I wouldve had.

I was thinking about that though, but with adding the S/C.. cost was prohibitive, even compared to this route and all the Fab work Bob at RC will be doing lol

Any other guesses? I am doing this to spool the primary stage faster and take care of the surge that comes with a 61mm compressor on a 1.5L engine....

Pencils down...

The answer was:

(The charge pipe leading out of the 14B, which is the secondary or manifold mounted turbo in this diagram, to the intercooler and then to the throttle body was omitted in this drawing for simplicity)


2x 2G DSM 60 trim compressor T25s (38.7mm/52.2mm) to replace the single 61mm Garrett turbo.

Saves money, quicker spool and the same flow.. with the bonus of having the surge lines shifted much much farther to the left. Both these turbos together will move 56-58lbs/min and still show some semblence of efficiency and the boost threshold and response should be immediate.

They come with their own internal gates which I intend to port out and will run a manual boost controller off of to regulate total boost.

The 14B will still be the primary turbo, using a 44mm TiAl and running off spring pressure for now.

Picked up both of them from a guy who was experimenting with using them in a really bizarre and impractical fashion on DSM, so he gave them up for dirt cheap.

This was his master plan:


Those 90 elbows built in to the compressor housings only sweeten the deal for where they will be mounted over the transmission!

Wow! And here I was thinking something impractical like a really really low a/r turbine housing or something. You always impress.

They're here! Picked up four DSM TD05H flange T25s:


Here are the two with the cleanest comp covers and turbine housings next to the 14B they will be face f*cking:


Fortunately they all have the same discharge pattern and I'm going to try and make the internal gates on the T25s work, the 14B may have to have a 44mm external gate off the manifold as well.


This setup should be good for ~60-64lbs/min based on some revised math, and considering I only aim to max out around 53-54lbs/min when all is said and done it should be perfectly happy doing so!

Yes, this is fo-realz.

I move slow because I do it right the first time. Doesn't hurt that I never have free time and constantly have projects for myself and others going simultaneously.

Finally getting more bits together and it looks like I have a good bit of cash flow coming in from a few grudge race projects Ive been working on under wraps lately.

In the mean time.. found myself an affordable wastegate solution chillin at the back of my storage locker oddly enough they are perfectly shaped for where I need them


The large upright cylinder will fit perfectly over the manifold where it has plenty of head room, and the disc shaped diaghram on the other will mount nicely at the front of the tube-manifold/intermediary pipe between the second stage turbines.

40mm HKS external gate for the manifold to compliment the internal gate on the 14B:



38mm Turbonetics gate for the second stage manifold to mount between the two T25s and to help fight boost creep as the stock internals on those two are notorious for it:

Yes thats a pink collar, its a girl, this is so it doesnt get picked up and euthanized in the event someone can get a hold of her. She reluctantly let me bring her in for shots/spaying, took a few days to forgive me though.

Heh thank you, this project is bringing an impressive amount of headaches with it. Definitely worth it though.

I have to re-route all the coolant hoses to the heater core and radiator.

Then extending the harness for the fuse box from under the hood to behind the glovebox.

Insulating and wrapping the brake lines on the firewall.. I think the intake pipe routing is going to be the hardest considering I need the pipes to be 2.5" and it just keeps snowballing from there.

I want to try and mount the battery up under the dash with charge terminals under the hood, get a smaller pulley for my alternator and have it rewound for ~125A at least. The list goes on.

Ideally I would have the car front-halved to accomodate everything but as it stands the budget for this year and next year as well.

The other thing I never really mentioned, on here at least, was the fact I am likely going to need to make an external oil system in order to feed 3 super thirsty journal bearing turbos a couple liters a minute each @ 35-40psi under load.
