TOOL- yah honestly i want those visors, but with the snow and scraping
the windows we need to do in the winter time im worried that i'll accidentally
break it...

are those visors pretty soft? last thing i need is brittle plastic near
my windows. it can get as cold as -10F in the winter around here...
windchill -40F and lower sometimes. usually the cold days are around 0F.

^^ yah, you're lucky.

im also thinking about maybe doing the tail lights too... the factory
lamps are fine as far as the clear in the middle, but those damn bare
bulbs showing through the lens is so cheap looking.

I'd rather be paying attention to my car and getting 42-45MPG, especially as of late. I purchased the Aussie visors from College Hills and am perfectly satisfied.

so you're for the scangauge2, i take it?

yah, i will most-likely not do the visors due to the snow issue here...
although i'd like to have a set cause i drive a lot with the window
cracked open for fresh air even on a hot day with the AC cranking.

and im not too sure about that DEPO tail lamps either...they look
like they are high quality in the pictures but are the LED's bright
enough, durable, plastic wont cloud up, how about water leaks,
etc? there's a reason why the OEM ones are so expensive... they
are environmentally tested for durability and function.

Thats the same thing im worried about. I want LED tails really bad to bring the tail end together but the huge price difference makes me wonder if all you stated above will happen. I dont want to spend the money if they are cheap and i have to replace them with the JDM ones later. Back to the point though i like the idea of the scangauge because they are so usefull. I keep spending money on silly stuff otherwise i would have gotten one. haha.

Ever since I purchased the SGII, I've turned into Mr. gas miser. It actually takes a bit of work to get the good MPG numbers but watching the SGII really helps. I managed to get 45.2 MPG on my 30 miles commute home yesterday.

exactly! yah, i know wat you mean about spending money on
other things... ive been getting a lot of detailing stuff for this season
and already spent more than the real JDM taillights... im a pretty
intense detailer when it comes to my hobby cars and spend a lot of
time and some money on keeping them very clean.

damn, that is impressive! im not too worried about the mpg because
i only drive like 12miles to work on surface roads and have been getting
consistent mpg of about 36mpg. but ive been missing the ambient temp
guage since the day i bought the car... being able to get the intake temp
gauge from the scangauge would be even better than just an ambient
temp gauge cause that's wat im really after. i want to know wat the
engine is seeing. then i'll know about wat kinda performance i can
expect from the drive.

also, since my car resides outdoors i like to have the volt meter and
coolant temps especially in the winter time. that and having the options
to monitor so many other parameters, thought it's a nice tool.

for anyone else that's interested in the scan gauge, go to amazon.com
and search scan gauge 2.

this time of year sucks cause after each wash you find more and more
scratches on your car. lol...

i park on the edge of my driveway next to the bushes and i think the
landscape mofo's scuffed the side of my rear passengerside door.

it's 7-8 light scratches; hope it comes out with some polish. going
to be detailing and sealing the paint this coming weekend using
Griot's PaintSealant.

i tried the sealant on my Legacy over the weekend. worked great.
super easy to apply, just wait 30min or so (dry to the touch) and wipe
off using some QD (SpeedShine). very quick, very nice. they claim
it lasts one year. for anyone with brand new cars, i highly recommend
this. just get the small 8oz bottle, use a soft foam pad to apply very
thin.

the detail for the day. took about 3hrs. wash, clay,
Griot's Paint Sealant. i spot polished a few scratches out, using my
new 3" random orbital. the sealant was applied using my 6" orbital.

Hydro'ed the wheels, tires have no dressing. Nero'ed and Clarity'ed
the interior. (Prima products from Detailer's Paradise).

Griot's Paint Sealant is very easy to apply. very easy to tell coverage while applying.
quickly dries to a haze... maybe 15-20min wait.

picts are not good, but you get the idea. the gloss is superb!

Lookin' good Ken! Not that I need any other detail products, but that Griot's paint sealant sounds impressive. What life span do you expect to get from the sealant?
