ok, so yesterday while i was installing an alignment ring for my MOMO
steering wheel on my other car i realized one thing.

if i do the steering wheel offset adapter the turn signal and wiper stalks
will be that much farther. if i offset the steering wheel by 2", that'll
mean i wont reach the turnsignal stalk while my hand is on the steering
wheel....

so, must think of another way...

Just an update an impression of the car... (summer)

so the last few days we were up in the low 80F's and had the a/c running
while i drove my car around town.

i have to say the car is boggin' slow in the summer temps with a/c.
yah, i know it's a little NA 4 banger with only 109hp, but you really feel
the lack of power in the summer. In the winter time it's not bad at all,
nice and quick and feels very quick.

wat also not helps is that i pull my G out on the weekends. it's
like i get in my Fit Monday and it's like wtf happened to my gas pedal?

anyway, just wanted to give my impression of the FitSport in the summer.
it will get worse as the temps go into the upper 80F's and 90F's. I hope
it doesn't get too bad to the point i start to hate the car.

Yeah i hear ya man. Anything under 100 and i keep my windows down 0 AC usually just because with the AC on it feels like im getting about 50whp lol. 100 is my limit though, tempatures 100+ windows up AC blasting.

100F?! holly crap you're tuff. Ive done 95F and i thought i was
crazy.

actually today i changed my footing on the gas and just inputted more
throttle at different revup curves than before to compensate for the bogging.

yes it eats more gas but it didn't feel too slow. also, i think my ECU
is adapting to the warmer temps cause the response was much better
today.

so im checking with japanparts.com to see if they can get me a
steering wheel boss and some spacers. im going to do the momo and
see how far back i can go in the driver's seat while still maintaining
operable distance on the turn signal stalk. going to try 20mm and 30mm
spacers first. if i can go further back i think im going to do the 9/360
adjust spacer for additional 7mm or go up to the 40mm while having
the option to fine align the steering wheel straight.

the stock steering wheel appears to be about 90-95mm thick... the
steering wheel should end up around 125mm using the 30mm. im hoping
that i can go back 2-3 clicks on the driver's seat so that my foot isn't
so cramped up by the pedals. this allows me to have better throttle
control.

80F this morning with over 80%RH (yuk) and the car felt pretty good.
i think my ECU just needed to adapt to these new temps.

we're near 90F today and higher humidity so will see how that goes.

good news, im happy to report that it was my ECU just needing some
adapting to the higher temps. was 88F going home today with high
humidity and the car was not 'boggin slow.'

wheeew, im so glad. it's not fast but it gets around quick and
that's all i need for my commute. a nice quick fun ride.

no reply yet from Japanparts regarding my steering boss (hub) and
the spacer quotes. perhaps they dont want to deal with these
little nuisance orders.

after a week's wait they didnt even give me a quote and just said on an email
let them know if im still interested...they're too busy handling other more
important orders.

anyways, im hoping someone makes a factory steering wheel extender
of some sort... airbag is kinda nice to have on daily drivers. until then,
i'll live.

im still having loads of fun motoring my FitS.

alright, japanparts got back to me and now i have place orders for 3 items....

steering boss (hub) with SRS delete resistor,
20mm spacer and 30mm spacer.

so far just a hair over $200.

will get a momo steering wheel, probably a tuner or something maybe
look at something in the 320-330 mm diameter department.

The main purpose is to telescope the steering wheel towards me so that
i can find a better seating position, and have a better steering wheel.

will pass on the part numbers, etc as soon as i try them out on my car.
they uploaded the pn's on their site, but there is no guarantee yet this
will work on our cars, so just hang on tight.

i will be doing a DIY.

man it was 102F yesterday. today feels about the same.

see i cut it at the line where IF i start to sweat bad in my car...the AC is a going on. untill i start feel sweat dripping down my head...then windows are down forsure.

especially since i have tint...i try to stay away from putting the windows up.

yah, i should get that mugen visor you got down the road.

i motor my FitS in the rain on weekends when i dont want to
pull out my hobby cars (too lazy to re-detail after rain). i like
to drive with the window open too, and having that visor will
at least allow me to keep the window cracked open while i
run the a/c.

so i picked up a MOMO Champion steering wheel today. the
satin finish should match the FitS's interior very well.

for those of you in the snow belt states that use roadsalt in the winter...

i had this pretty bad salt stain on my carpeting where my a/s floormats
didn't cover. figures, huh? I tried all sorts of cleaners including
Griot's CarpetCleaner, InteriorCleaner, but it still left behind a light gray
trace of salt stains. by this time, i was thinking maybe it's like calcium
or other minerals so cleaners wouldn't work...

so i tried a white vinegar/tap water mix (50:50), sprayed liberally onto
the stained area and kept spraying more every 5min for 15in. took
a fresh clean cotton towel and without scuffing or rubbing, just pressed
firmly to soak up the solution. dont rub the carpet because it will
damage it. r
