test drove the FitS this morning. happy to report, the buzzing is gone.

i used some heavy duty clips this time off another car (cant remember if it
was off my MINI or another j-car) but these dont fall out when you pull off
the bezel. i drilled new holes in the posts and the clips lock onto the hole.
not sure why honda didn't use these clips to begin with.

each time you pull out your bezel you loose like 3 clips. lol i had to keep
adding new ones. metra or crutchfield should include new clips.

hey, so got a chance to drive my FitS with EnduraTechs in the light snow/ice.
basically slippery conditions tell how well the car is balanced... or not.

ofcourse i wasn't going fast as it was icy on the bridges last night...
and i was pretty tired coming home from my biz trip to canada.

there was a car that undertsteered and slipped off the expressway into
the cornfield. lol stupid people = crash.

there was a trans-am that smashed into the railing going around a ramp
at slow speeds. lol pos cars = crash

my FitS very controllably followed my command with confidence.
even on the iciest part of the icy bridge (1st gear would just spin
from 3mph), i used 2nd gear and just gently followed the bridge's
turn. absolutely no issue. made it in time for supper.

i crackup at people that drive rwd sport cars/coupes in the ice/snow.
hibernate them and drive a ff or awd. no money? get rid of it
and get a FitS.

luv my car.

here's a pict of the Griot's brake fluid extractor pump and the
replenish bottle on the left. the one on the right is the mityvac one
which a lot of pro's use.

the benefit of the mityvac is that you can adjust the nozzle height to
match the "max" line on your resevoir.

my G's out of its carcover right now waiting for me to finish supper.
going to bleed the brembo's tonight. unlike regular brakes
these have 2 valves per caliper so that means i need to bleed 8x.

shouldn't be a problem.

yah, the brake bleeding went well. was the first time using those
one-man brake extractors but i have to say it is worth every penny
of that $70 Griot's charges. thing + mityvac bottle ($50) just paid for
itself and then some. cleaning the system at the end is a breeze
too. while the old brake fluid is still inside the extractor, just pump it
and spray brake cleaner into the bleeder tubing. walla!

cant wait to try my cooper-s next summer when its due.

woooo~~~ T1R's, huh? cool. does that come with the shorter endlink?
i heard people were having clearance issues on the front, rear springs
were too short... there's play when the suspension extends.

TOOL- are you going to do the install yourself?

Fit is a good car to practice on, i think. it's very simple.

I bought and installed the Nissan Brembos on my last car (2002 Sentra specV). That year didn't have them as an option. I had a mixmatch of parts to get it to work including a trip to a machine shop. They were some of the easiest calipers to bleed just because the bleeder valves are so accessible and large. I replaced all of the fluid with Motul and the lines with Crown stainless steel and was pleased with the results.

I don't miss the car, but I sure miss all of the parts I had on it.

the inner bleeder valves on my G's rear brembo's are accessible but only has
narrow space to turn the valve. the other 6 were fine. a lot of folks use
the box end of the combination wrench but i use the open end for that reason,
just in case i dont have enough space.

be pretty funny if some newb used those ratcheting box wrenches without
direction change lever on the valve. hahahhaha

Hey that red hazard sw is cOol. I likes. It reminds me of lego's. Hahahahahah

Very playful.

So I've been seeing more and more Fits in my area. I'm glad mine's modded. Although the stock shape looks acceptable, just lowering it a tad and giving it some wheels just transforms the car.

Any opinions?

ordered one of these milwaukee adapters for my drill/driver. this and
a dewalt pivoting (universal) driver bit holder should help me when im doing
interior installs using my 18v. sometimes the thing is just too damn clumsy,
even though it is one of the smallest 18v out there.

still deciding if i want to get the new milwaukee impact
gun. it's compact, 18v, and can drive 180+lbs/ft.
typically it should be enough to do most car stuff, but
not enough to do all stuff. lol but i dont want to get
the full sized cordless cause it will be too clumsy to use
for suspension work.

i think im going to stopby homedepot today to check out that
pivot joint thingie from dewalt.

hey, took the wife out for dinner last night WITHOUT THE KIDS
(woohoo~! ) in my FitS. she liked the new stereo, but she said
she can't see the LCD from where she's sitting. that's one 'shortcoming'
the Aresenal has. it has no contrast setting nor faceplace angle setting.
but overall we had a great time so who cares.

while walking out from the nicer restaurant i opened her door and jokingly
said to her 'sorry about the car, please get in thinking it's a benz.'

and she said 'but i like honda.'
