trims, dead pedal, cargo cover thingie...

so, still to get are:
kics spacers for the factory wheels (15mm).
yellow fog H11's (will get them locally)
stebel horn (or might use my factory G35C ones)
digital ambient temp gauge (while my bumper is off the car)
radar detector (will probably do a handme down 7500 from my other car)
axle-back exhaust (HFP or touring medallion)
rear window tint
license plate frames...(are there fitfreak ones? )

finally had some time last night to install the factory a/s floor mats.
have to cut the carpeting alittle to get the factory hooks on but no
issues, comes with instructions. It took maybe 15-20min to do; overall
im very pleased with the product and collegehillshonda.

just picked up a fit myself, and with a baby on the way, i have to ask: So any issues with fitting the stroller in the back with the seats up? what about the baby seat, fits ok?

i opted for a base silver fit MT since i wanted to keep it nice and simple and its the third car in my fleet.

cool, congrats!

you'll be able to fit the stroller NO PROBLEM. i was able to fit 4wheel/tires
in there with the rear seats upright.

babyseats fit fine, you can do the infant carrier without the base on
this car. if you pull the seatbelt out all the way it locks as it winds up.
(not sure if all seatbelts were like that, but at least im happy the Fit is
like that so that i dont have to crowd up the rear seats on my car).

finally got some picts...

running DF210's some knock-off RPF1 wheels with the gunmetal centers.
wheels are 15x7 with 195/50/15 Falken 912's... (i think that was wat the
number was... lol! my first falken ever...)

Having a shop do the tint next Mon, more interior bits on Tues, and
finish off with a Megan exhaust by next weekend, and an alignment
last week of the year at my dealer. should turn out real nice.

as far as the DF210's...they are nice. as others have mentioned,
no noise feels like stock. install took me about 3hrs, but no cv joint
poppin' out like some newb.

i drove over my predetermined huge hump/bump crappy road and
no rubbing, no noise. felt a tad bumpy but didnt feel like i was riding
the bumpstops all too much. on normal roads, feels great.

honestly though... if my Fit keeps this up i might just sell my cooper-s.
the Fit is FANTASTIC. i cant believe how smooth the MT is and
drivetrain everything for such an inexpensive car and very practical too.
i should buy another one in a different color. jk

your next mod should be the jdm smoked led taillights. $100 from n1 concepts. makes the rear end look 100X better.

hummmm... naw, i think the stock tails are fine for now. may be
later on. wat it needs right now is a tint and better exhaust note.

Thanks for the heads up about the Zeta parts.

I think I need the dead pedal and the center arm rest as a minimum.

I got the black 08 Sport mt on the 10th of Dec 07.

Great vehicle. I am still being conservative until the break in is done.

It handles really well though. Its a lot of fun even when I am not pushing it. I can't wait to seee what it can do after the 1st 600 miles of break in.

Great site.

Tom.

yah, np on the Zeta. i hear the dead pedal is pretty decent...will
find out next week. i also ordered their cargo cover thingie, satin trim
rings. the cargo cover thing for me is not so much for security since
i'll have the car tinted, it's more to isolate the trunk area from direct
sunlight in the summer since i'll have a cooler box in there for
groceries. dont want my sashimi rotting while driving home from
mitsuwa. lol

have fun with your car. im loving the Fit. i cant believe im having
this much fun.

congratulations on the 5MT SSM ken,
I am in the same-ish boat you are, just got my 5MT SSM at the start of december, RPF1's are in boxes in my basement waiting for summer. i didnt have the luxury of trading in a car since this is my first car, but ive played with my fair share, and youre right, as far as econobox transmissions go, this one is a gem. and the cargo space is fantastic. i can see where youre going with mods, and i like the direction, i hope i can get mine in the same area come summer.
i think this little box is the most fun you can have off a dealer lot for this price range.
enjoy your car bud

Haha I'm sure that's no reference to me and my skunk2's, right!!??
I just went back and checked the sway bar links and sure enough one was just slightly loose - tightened it and went on to some bumpy pavement and it's beautiful now, no noise. I love the ride - feels OEM, only harsh bumps do I realize occasionally they are aftermarket.
I do have a long term concern about strut/shock life now, but hopefully there'll be performance suspension components available before it becomes an issue, and I can split the difference between lowering springs and a full coilover setup (Just don't have the money, nor can I justify such a setup when I'm not running the car for anything but daily driving.)
Your ride is really shaping up - silver would have been my next choice but I've owned blue cars and I inadvertently kept the trend going when they told me one was on it's way to the dealer and it hadn't been spoken for yet. (Before this, all the fit's in New England had been spoken for in Late May til the end of '07) It was fate, haha.
I like the wheels - I've been considering gunmetal for a while, but I think I want bronze - the WRX color combo is just great, and even if it's a honda, I don't think many people can deny that bronze and pearl blue just go well!
Tint does wonders for fit too... and my tint guy said it was one of the easiest cars he's ever worked on - I was in and out, all windows in 45 minutes, if you're just doing the rear, you'll be in and out before you know it.
And IMO, if you're considering the HFP axle back or the touring medallion, go with the tanabe - it's double the money, but you're gonna get what you pay for and tanabe is top notch. But I think with all the axle back's out there, the HFP should be last on the list, unless your a honda purist and like OEM... just my opinion, again..
I'm selling my a-spec axle back (less then 3000 mi. just got a free skunk2 50mm) for a good deal, if your interested. It'll satisfy your desire for a better exhaust note, and nice looks, with the titanium blue tip

This is the first car I've owned that's not to ever see snow... There's a few forum members that have done rubber undercoating, as this car's undercoat is pretty lame from the factory... Might be something to consider for you, given your climate. No one likes a rusty fit!

anyway just my .02 cents - come summer that fit is going to be a great balance between form and function (more so then it was off the showroom floor from the factory) keep it up!
I've driven mini's and man I love the fit, but I'd have a hard time giving a cooper up!

thanks caution! damn, you got the real RPF1's, huh? cool. my
buddy who owns a local shop One6MotorSports just got a large shipment
of these knock-offs along with other styles so got them as my all
weather set. they look nice and no vibrations, etc. Im probably going
to look for some faux advans in 16's later on for summer...thus why i
want to sell my stock wheels. yah, ive driven and owned a lot
of different cars (mostly under $40k) but the Fit is one of the truely
fun cars out there.

lol! nono, there are MANY people that dont know about the cv joints
popping out for some reason so ive been using my jack under the hub
long before working on my Fit.

yep, rattles from low speeds are typically from loose or worn out
endlinks given that it wasn't your springs chattering. I know eibachs
come with protective wraps (like the DF210's) so didn't think it would've
been from the springs. considering your car is new i doubted the
endlinks were worn out..thus commented to check the torque.
glad to hear it helped!

as far as the dampers go, i think we'll be able to get good life
out of them even with the lowering springs...ive done eibachs in
the past on my previous cars and it lasted well over 20K miles.
Im running Tokico DSpecs on my G35C. i expect to get minimum
20K out of my dampers running DF210's..but if not, i'll probably
just replace the blown dampers with OE ones until someone makes
adjustable ones for cheap (cheap meaning $450 range). no sense
spending a lot of money on this car imho. the fun is doing it all at
a budget price. that's where all the fun is at.

I've driven mini's and man I love the fit, but I'd have a hard time giving a cooper up!

my post was getting a little too long so separated...

thanks for the offer on the aspec. i have a megan axle-back coming
to me already so need to pass. I wanted a subtle look and that dual
outlet is different and cool. the aspec sounds good though.

cool on the tint. im going in early and hopefully be out in 1hr.
the guy said he will have 2 of his crew working on my car so just
come early and sip on some coffee or watever.

i'll keep you guys posted on how the tint goes and if i can
recommend the shop, i'll post up the name and contact info.
the guy has a lot of experience with cars and commercial
building tint so im sure he'll do a great job.

Definitely shops that do multiple types of tints I think have an advantage over just automotive tint shops. My shop does the same, home and storm reinforcement tinting, as well as bulletproof reinforcement, whatever exactly that is... they do it all. They also do custom interior trim, wood grains, stainless, brushed alum, and tons of colored CF - real and simulated for the budget minded... I was tempted to get an estimate, but as it stands now, the interior works for me, and I'm more about working with the little go power then the show power
I had a jack stand ready for the hub, but I must have moved it just enough to pop the axle - but it couldn't have been bad because with a little twisting/pushing it went right back in. Tricky as this is my first suspension job on something other then a suv/truck and alone (usually handy to have a friend but when the box arrived I was too excited to wait!)
Good choice on the megan - it was that or the a-spec and the a-spec just fit the price. The megan design I think is what the HFP should have looked like, almost like an ep3, nearly OEM, and if you do the high temp black engine paint on it, it's hardly noticeable, other then the megan logo.
can't wait to see more pics!
