alexfree05 PM me and said he accidentally hit the bad rep button...

oh well... shitola happens right?
a little OT since we got some music guys here...
so last night i stopped by my local RadioShack to
pickup a gold plated Y-adapter for my mixer... yah, i
use the original Mackie1604 from the days and it's
missing the ControlRoom output for my studio monitors
that its successors have.
i had been using my main-outputs as my monitor outs.
it was fine cause the recording side was done via digital
line that was completely isolated from the analog mixer,
but this new Alesis MasterLink i recently bought as my
master recorder does not support the Type2 (SPDIF
protocol from my instrument... or any SPDIF for that
matter for some reason although it has a RCA type
coax input.

)
so i need to use the mixer's main-outputs and record
via analog inputs on the MasterLink...which is fine cause
the resolution is very high and my setup has barely any
noise.
now that im running analog into the mastering machine
i need to use the headphone outputs as my monitor
outs. (Mackie uses 2 identical amps for the main-outs
and headphone outs so the sound is very clear and has
a lot of power).
i tried my typical insert cables (y-cord) but the winds
inside the cord is reversed on the send and returns...
so i can sort of notice a difference in the ambiance of
the sound as the phase is slightly shifted...plus the
sound quality diminished.
now with this y-adapter that splits TRS to left and right
female RCA outs, i can use my regular high-end RCA
cords to send to the room acoustic EQ which also
accepts RCA prior to the studio monitors.
now im all set. started laying down some tracks
this am for my next project.
