i had some old honda touch up bottle of taffeta white from the GE so dabbed dat on there for now to prevent any rust before i get mixed cans in the coming weeks.. will sand block the taffeta white off to a smooth finish, and spray over it with fresh orchard white pearl.
EEK. That's no good.

IS350F would be much more expensive to fix though

alright, got the mixed tricoat paint for the GK, and filler, primer. im going to do the repair this weekend on the GK. it's down near the bottom so should turn out fine.

i got 2 door dings on my new GTI already.. wtf is wrong with people. i fixed one of the dings via PDR but the other is on the quarter on the arch line and no access point. didnt feel like drilling an access hole yet since its a tiny one so going to either ignore it or fill it and touch up. it's my beater so i dont care dat much, but just tick off it got dinged so soon.

going to install lowering springs over the holiday. this is the last of the mods on the GTI. im liking the car so far. good for dd. not good enough to be my hobby car.

worked on the GK's damage today. turned out alright.. wheew. now letting it dry for a week before i polish it to a nice shine.

my wife brought me a drink and hung out while i painted so dat was nice.
hope to work on my GTI tomorrow to get the springs installed. got an alignment appointment on tues.. im hoping to make the stance more aggressive like how a GTI should look. didn't think i would buy another hatch after selling my GE, but hatches are cool.

Hatches are awesome, before getting my Fit I was considering a TDI golf but couldn't pass up my fit. Good luck with the spring install, should make an already great handling car handle even better =)

the picture above is still not the finished product. i need to polish it with compound to get the shine, but you can kind of tell how it will turn out.
my wife was excited to get her car back. total cost $65? can't remember how much the mixed paint was.

thanks, yah, im real excited how the GTI will turn out. my buddy wanted to help me install the springs as he too has a mk7 and was thinking about doing the same springs on his ride so will do dat tomorrow am. should take no more than 2hrs to install. too bad the one day i took off is going to be steamy hot tomorrow..

yah, the Fit would be my choice too if vs the golf. it has to be a GTI with sport pack minimum to make it worthwhile imho. the Fender stereo sounds very good. the GTI with lightweight wheels and the JB1 is frikken fast!!

The Fit and the GTI are two awesome cars. You have exceptional taste!

I see you even sprung for the Autobahn trim level. Nice! I've only driven the base model but it was a "spirited" drive for sure.

thanks, yah, the GTI has been good so far, besides it being quick and all, i really like all the latest electronics on the car including carplay. i end up using carplay iphone nav more than the factory nav because it is just so convenient through siri finding destinations through names of the store or watever all done hands-free.

so i was about to finish up the GK's lower side today by running some compound on my random orbital to get the nice shine.. only to find a dang chip from kick up.. craps, looks like the car ran over a branch or something.

so ended up re-sanding, and spot-painting that area, then re-did the clearcoat once again for the entire rocker. this time i used a very thick coat of clear to a point it was running a little bit. it's okay, will wetsand it flat and polish to a nice finish hopefully next weekend.

will polymer seal the entire car before it gets too cold using prima hydro max.
