Rx8 To a Honda Fit?

Hello Fit Freaks

I am quite the noob when it comes to the fit. I have driven an Rx8 for about a year now, but gas isn't nice. I'm averaging about 55 bucks a week on gas now. Before i jump into a fit - i have a few questions.

Are these things fast at all? N/A or Stock or Turbo 1/4 mile time?

With basic bolt-ons, will mpg be affected much?

And is there any new fit i should wait for? (ex 2009 fit?)

Thanks for any info,

-Ron

DVFlyer is on a distinguished road
I don't own a Fit yet, but can offer some answers to your questions.

The Fit has 109hp (IIRC). I don't think you could really call them "fast", but spunky maybe.

There are advertisers here who offer upgrades like superchargers. I think there is a thread about a Kraftwerk upgrade.

Pretty much any upgrade you do to gain more hp will result in lower mpg. Not so much because of the upgrade, but because the upgrade results in a heavier right foot.

Yes, there is a 2009 Fit which is a redesigned model.

an RX8 isn't a fast car.

i had a modded fox mustang that was FAST. i was getting anywhere from 9-14 mpg. i am VERY happy with the performance of the fit. i'd buy one again in a second!!!

Never stated that the RX8 is a fast car.

However, 14.5 sec 1/4 miles are pretty quick for a N/A 1.3L.

As for mustangs - they would get killed on the track against an RX8.. then again - you are probably going to tell me ur mustang had a track worthy suspension.

Are there any fit club meets in the irvine area?

Problem with going from a power car to a smart car is that the Fit will feel sluggish.

lmao!! nah, the mustang had engine boltons/full exhaust and a stripped interior.. it was truly a shitbox.

it handled like a boat. but it was fast in a straight line.

before that i had a motorswapped del sol with tein FLEX suspension and nice tires.

i am happy with the fit. couldn't see myself driving anyhting but a fit.

awesome MPG and good handling. slow, but how fast do you need to go on the street?!

Compared to your RX8 the Fit will feel slow, but your mpg will be much better. So you need to decide what's more important to you, speed, or economy/practicality. If your answer is speed then you might not be happy with a Fit.

Yes mods tend to affect mpg. Because they tend to make the person drive faster, which means worse mpg.

EXWRX will become famous soon enough
I went from a WRX to the Fit. I miss the turbo oomph, but the Fit is more fun in the corners due to the quick steering and relatively stiff suspension, plus I get at least time and a half the mileage, and use regular, rather than premium. I have about as much fun in the Fit as I did in WRX, it's just a different sort of fun.

jits14 has a spectacular aura aboutjits14 has a spectacular aura about
I used to own a couple first gen rx-7s and they are quite similar in performance. They both run about 100 hp and torque and accelerate the same. The handling on the rx-7s are better but the fit is just as fun to drive plus it has a back seat and way better mpgs. I heard the rx-8s are fun too, but todays fuel costs make the fit a better choice. The mods for the fit are always an improvement too.
