07 Fit as DD

Good day gentle folks,
I recently purchased a second hand 07 Fit (not sport) w/ a manual transmission, 35K miles. It's my DD, my other car doesnt get terrible gas mileage (23MPG avg), but not ideal for a DD. I'm very happy to have gotten the Fit. I did cross shop the Accent, Versa, Civic, Yaris, xA. xA would have been a good choice as well, but w/ less airbags, and all the vital information in the middle of the dash, I passed. And the Civic really has become too much of a boy racer/ricer mobile (if it can get anymore ricer/racer than it already is). But more important than that, the wife loves it and is looking forward to learning to drive a manual.

Now for the bad news, the previous owner had pets in the car and dog hair was all over the place. The wife and I tried hard to get most of it out. And part of the ebrake cover/handle is broken off . I hate that the previous owner probably treated it like crap but I am happy to rescue it and treat it well despite being my DD.

It's been a while since I owned a Honda of my own, but the Fit has definitely has reminded me of why I still have a special place in my heart for Honda's. My previous Honda's include a 93 Del Sol Si, 02 Civic LX. Both were modded, unfortunately this Honda will be a DD and I cant afford to mod 2 cars at the same time (despite how easy it seems to obtain parts for the Fit).

Ok, thanks for reading.

Driving MT is awesome, you'll never want to own an AT car again.
Congrats.
Just make sure when you encounter a big hill, to downshift, no way the fit can make it up it in a taller gear hahaha.

I know what cha mean, I have been driving MT since I was 19, (that was a while back, I just might be above the average age of the members on here) and have never stopped driving MT. In fact all my cars have been and currently are MT. I have had my share of cars needing a downshift to get uphill. Luckily shifting in the Fit is fun!
