tire size and fuel consuption

I am just wonderig , Iam thinking to upgrade my rims and tires from 175/65R14 to 205/45R16.
How does this rim and tire change affect your fuel consumption?
Do you use more gas because of bigger rims and tires?
Thank you.

if overall circumference is similar so you shouldnt see drastic change. here is how you read tire sizes:

175/65R14 = 175mm width, 65% of 175mm, 14" diameter
205/45/16 = 205mm width, 45% of 205mm, 16" diameter

not sure why there is metric and standard units in the same reading but it's been like that. hahaha.

if your gross weight is different you might notice some change in fuel consumption as well.
