Antenna removal DIY with photos

Ok! I did search for this and couldn't find info for what I'm looking to do.

I need to remove the antenna, complete with it's base for a cosmetic add-on. I just can't mask it off, it need to come off to do wath I want. Did somebody attempt to remove the thing and could help me with that? Do someone know if I will need to remove everything to un plug the wire from the antenna and take it of with the antenna or their's a plug in the roof some where that will let me took of the antenna without dismanteling the complete interior?

Thank's for your help
René

I believe that you just screw it off (turn it counter clockwise).

Since no one seem to know for sure, I just took a look at it tonight.

Let's just say it was easier than I tough...

Here's how I did it:

DISCLAIMER: ONLY ATTEMPT THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, HAVE ALL THE TOOLS NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB PROPERLY. ONLY ATTEMPT IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH DIY PROJECTS AND HAVE SOME SORT OF MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE.

First, working from the hatch, remove the two little button that old the liner to the roof, the plastic part that cover the baby seat fixation and the plastic part around the seat belt for the center rear passenger. Take your time when pulling on those not to damage the liner.

Then carefully pull down a bit on the liner to make just enough room to go trough with your arm(s)

Locate the 8MM nut at the base of the antenna. Using a small 1/4 drive ratchet and 8MM socket, loosen the nut . Don't worry loosing it , it seem to be prisoneer to the antenna base, and remove the base from the antenna. The wire are attached to the base. Shown between my finger is the antenna base, just put it aside...

Last step, unclip the two little tabs (shown on picture) and remove the antenna from the roof of the car....

Instalation is reverse of removal procedure.

I tried this but the Antenna on the Thailand built Jazz (current model) is totally different in design. I can get my hand in there, under the lining but I can't for the life of me find any sort of screw on the base of the antenna under the lining.

I know its a little late but did you jack up your headliner doing this? I took the antenna off my car but to get to it I had to bend the headliner way further then I wanted so I just ended up taking it out. Taking it out requires removing the top molding all the way around, and the top molding requires removing the bottom molding. Long story short, it's a PITA. I tried to find an antenna to replace the stock one but turns out all I had to do was cut the wire running the antenna booster and all my FM stations came in. I posted this somewhere else also on these forums but wanted you to know.
