Does anyone know what kind of amp rating our alternators have in the 09 Sport model?
I'm going to be running 2 amplifiers (1 rated at 120A@1000W and 1 rated at 40A@500W) and I want to be sure I have enough juice and won't have dimming.
If anyone know this information I'd really appreciate it!!

You'll probably have to buy/borrow an ammeter and check your alternator yourself, or have a parts shop do it for you. The Honda Service Manual would have that info., but it won't be available until 03/09. I will buy one the minute that HelmInc. will accept my order.
I, too, am waiting for that item to become available. It appears that the item is "In Stock" and then you try to put it in your cart and nothing shows up in the cart. Repeat ad nauseum.
It's a real bummer because when I saw "In Stock" I was psyched.
Oh well, I'll see if I can find an ammeter at my shop.
Thanks again.
ADD: If anyone has the '08 Service Manual, that might say what rating that alternator has and give me an idea as to what's in the '09. I can't imagine they differ too significantly.
ADD2: Well, I just looked at my copy of the 02-05 Jazz/Fit Manual and it says that it's a 12V - 75A Alternator. I can't imagine the '09 is less, but it's probably not too much more either. Guess I'll have to upgrade when I can find a high output that'll "fit."

When I first started checking in late October, the '09 Fit manual wasn't even listed. So I called the company and was told of the 03/09 publishing date. If they now show it "available", you might try a phone call to get the real story. Maybe they pushed the publishing date up a month or two.
I know for a fact that the 2007 Fit Sports have a 90 amp alternator. And also, For some who installs car audio at a shop, let me tell you that capasitors that are .5- to like 10 are just gonna harm your alternator, since the capacitor that size is nearly instantly discharged on your first bass hit. So then ur alternator is charging the cap and your battery, which strains it. Plus those capacitors are pretty useless. Your lights shouldnt dim much or even at all with a 300 watt amp. Over time the cap with just ruin your alternator. Your WAY batter off running without is.
Just get a capacitor! I picked up a digital 2 farad (Power Acoustik) even for my humble 300w(RMS) Kenwood/JL 12w3v2 setup! Can't go wrong!!!

The 07 Sports have a 90amp alternator. I think that the 09's are 90amps too. but ill check for you.

I for one would like to know the proof you have that the 2007 has a 90 amp alternator since I'm the one that sent an alternator to Ohio Generator for testing two years ago and it wasn't 90 amps.
