Speaker adapters?

OK, I got the speakers from Crutchfield with the brackets they threw in, but they are NOT the correct stuff!

The OEM little clip in brackets are missing on the passenger side, so I can't modify the old ones (see my other thread).

Is there a good aftermarket adapter, or should I get some OEM ones and mod them to mount the new speakers? I'm gonna call College Hills Honda and see how much the OEM mounts cost. They're probably cheap since they're just plastic.

If you're any good with a jigsaw, just make some out of 1/4" MDF

I'm not bad with tools, but I'd like something that's more plug-n-play.

I figure the OEM brackets can't be too expensive. I'll buy four and mount the speakers while they're out of the car, then just yank out the driver's side speakers and pop them all in. voila.

$? for a jigsaw. Drill the door to mount?

I think as long as the OEM spacers don't cost more than a few bucks, it'll be the easiest route.

Easy is good.

Just borrow a friend's saw. Yes, use some self-tappers to mount.

Meh, I think it would still be difficult to get the speaker centered behind the grille in the door panel.

I took one of the speakers mounted in the bracket Crutchfield sent, but it still looked tricky getting it lined up...

So I popped the speaker out of the rear driver's door and transplanted to the front passenger door for now. Man, those are TINY speakers. NO meat to them.

What I think I'll do is try to find a dismantler and get a couple more, then trim the new speakers and cut the old out of the bracket, the epoxy the speaker into the bracket. Do two of them, then swap them with the front speakers in my car, do the same surgery and then put the second two in the back.

the one's crutchfield sent you should work out fine.. just be sure to screw them int the shet metal. Centering them is easy. just an OEM speaker that you removed as reference.
