So where the heck do you put them? Where in the car are you guys throwing your subs? I don't want to lose a lot of space, but even putting that aside, I cannot visualize a pretty place for them. Advice? Also maybe some advice on subs under $200?
a good 10" sub can esily fit behind the smaller seat on the back and not take up too much space. for under $200 with good well rounded performance a JL audio 10W1v2 would be really good.

Anyone wanna buy a nice sub box, would have to come pick it up though! Would just take up too much space for me. I am thinking about getting an Infinity Basslink

I am totally happy with my new JL box. Model # is CP108LG-W3v3. It's a ported box with an 8-inch driver. Here's a link so you can see what it looks like:

I worked on submarines for 12 years (as a civilian). I've never seen one for under $200 and have no idea where one could put one on a Fit.

These people make amazing sub boxes. I own the under seat one for my xB, and you cant even see that it is there. Prices are great, and quality is excellent. I contacted them about making one for the Fit and they said they currently dont have any plans.
If enough of us inquire, they will probably see the demand and put it into theri plans.
I've got a JL 10w3v3 in a 1.5 cu.ft box mounted longways behind the right seat (it fires toward the left side of the car). This lets you drop 60 portion of the 60/40 seats for the most room without removing the box.
There are plenty of shallow subs hitting the market now-a-days. Some of them honestly perform similarly, if not better, than a considerable amount of "normal" subwoofers. RE Audio's new shallow sub offers a shallow mounting depth that packs a good punch. It's not a SQ derived subwoofer, but more geared towards their target customers - sounding pretty good while still getting loud. You can easily fit one of their 12's flush in your spare tire well. You'll also save yourself a couple hundred bucks compared to buying a tw5.
