I am going to try really hard to get it done tomorrow. I was called to work this weekend so it's kinda hectic. I got plenty of pics. I took some vids and pics of the HIDs in action at night...I'll post them when I get to it.
The angle eyes were a lot harder to install than I THOUGHT! I should be done tonight so Cuteboi doesn't have to wait much longer. Sample pics will be up soon, but I will let Cuteboi reveal the final results on his car.
I got one almost done. Here's a pic. I only had a 9V battery so it doesnt give enough juice for the two angel eyes at once, but you get the idea. I am going to take a little longer thanks for being cool with it. I need to figure out how to mount the little brick that came with the angel eyes and how to route the wires. AND i still have to do the same to the other headlight. This was definitely NOT a simple stick the angel eyes on and leave the wire hanging out in the back install.
For the blinker, the only way to install it was inside the reflector since there was no way to mount it on the outside without extensive cutting to get it to fit and I don't know if I could have retained the OEM LOOK chopping that area up.
So there's the progress everyone...and Cuteboi give me a call if you want otherwise enjoy the pics for now.
I improved the design on the retrofit a little bit...I am using nylon washers now instead of the lock washers and I changed the way the shroud sits on the projector so people don't have to worry about the weatherstrip design (even though I am not changing it on my own retrofit). You can also see how well the projector fits inside the reflector bowl now since I am making the cut more exact everytime (just looks nicer due to finishin my 5th retrofit) Pics will be up later this week.
+1 for a great writeup.
i started my retrofit yesterday. had to repaint the inside fo the headlight since the ones i bought were red (couldnt turn down the price though). i would have been finished if i didnt have to repaint them. only things lift to do are aim them, mount the shroud and jbweld all the bolts/nuts together for a permanant fit.
i am going to be leaving the reflector chrome though, and be using the same dog bowl as you for a shroud. a little mroe OEM looking.
bi-xenon wiring harness is already made, hopefully today i will be able to get them on the car to aim them and be done.
Just remember to totally seal the projector from light leaking if you dont paint the reflector bowl, otherwise you may get some unwanted reflections of light.
its all good..i was just letting you know..a little tiny reminder..lol....i like it though i wish i could do it myself...becuase its pretty expensive to get it done by for example you or and custom shop....haha
