hi im new to this, im from the uk so im guessing that the engine on the jazz over here be bit different to ur fits over where ur from. iv had the jazz for about a month now, and the brake lights has suddenly just gone of every thing else is working ok, its just the 3 brake lights dont work. i think it the fuse but im not sure? can some 1 tell me where the fuse is for the brake light? and if it not the fuse and other reason why it wont work.

p.s i know where the fuse box is just need to know which number the fuse is in.

thanks for ur help

andy

iv got a 1.4 model. the car ran out of warrenty i bought it privately and its gone past it warrenty date. my friend said its should'nt be to much of a cost probably under 10 pounds to get the switch. just hope it is the switch cause iv checked every thing else (bulbs and fuses)

apart from that, the jazz is a great car

If you've checked the bulbs, and fuse number 16 under the bonnet - this powers the horn as well so if your horn doesn't work you know where to look - then you need to test the pedal switch itself. It is at the back of the brake pedal with a 4 way electrical connector attached. Disconnect the connector and check continuity across terminals 1 and 2 on the switch. There should be continuity with the pedal pressed and open circuit when released if the switch is working. You can also test the wiring to the switch by connecting together the two wires in the plug with the ignition on - this should light the brake lights if the switch is faulty. The switch looks easy enough to replace as it just appears to screw out. Hope this helps, Ian

Great advice and testing directions.
