A lot of people have have misconception as to what is the brightest HID. There are tons of companies that sell 10k HID which is purple color. And if you search around purple is not a good color that gives off usable light. The same goes for the blue which is 8k. The best useable light is white which is 4300-5500k. The main reason people get the different color bulbs is because they want to mimic a true HID with projector which has the flicker effect. I always suggest to people to get 6000k HID because it is white/bluish which gives you the best of both worlds.

6000K is probably the best for clear lighting or 5500K
