HID xenon installation question

GE8 owners, where did you guys install the ballasts? How did you mount them? I just purchased some Matsushita Gen 3 ballasts from The Retrofit Source.

You can pretty much mount the ballast any where. Just make sure there is some slack in the lines so that it is easy for you to remove the bulbs. And if I remember right the 3rd gen Matsu ballast are two pieces one for the ballast and one for the ignitor? You do understand that you will need quite a bit more stuff for the install. H4 adaptors (casper shields) this uses the D2r bulbs for the H4 housing and reduces glare. Don't forget the wire harness as well.

I bought the H4 wiring harness and Phillips 4300k 85122+ D2S bulbs. I found projectors that use the existing hole in the reflector, it is similar to what fitofrage is using. What are casper shields? Are you talking about the end cap on the bulb to make a cutoff? What do you mean that they are two pieces? From the pictures, it looks like one. Please, educate me. Thanks.

Oh okay you got the newer version of the ballast from the Infiniti G35 or 350z. I haven't seen any projectors that uses stock headlight hole. Your second picture isn't showing so I can't comment. The casper shield are used to fit D2S/D2R bulbs into H4 housings. The shield also reduces glare even though the bulb has a type of glare reduction already on it. Using the casper shield is a cheap effective way for H4 headlights to use HID bulbs from OEM cars. I have used many aftermarket HID kits and always within 1-1 1/2 years something blows. With my OEM hid kit they are going strong for the past 6 years. Let me see a picture of the projectors and where you got them. I am interested in getting a pair for my brothers car.

When you use the wire harness you will most likely have to rearrange the connectors. Because when I took my wire harness from my 00 Civic and put it in my Fit it didn't work. I had to change a few wires around to get it to start up.
