Interior Overhead Light and Rear Defogger Light Out???

So I haven't been able to figure out what fuses to check for both the rear defogger and the dome light on my 2009 Fit.

The diagram is in the craziest place and I can't see anything that indicates which ones to check.

Does anyone have any experience with this? It seems so strange to have 2 electric things go at the same time. It's like I'm working on my Ford Escort or Focus.

Thanks, the dome lamp one was good, the bulb needed to rotated.

59 must be my defogger it's 20A so I have to get the pliers out of the toolbox when I get home from work.

While I had a butter knife out to pry the light cover off I went ahead and pried the defogger button out. (In case it’s the button.) From what I can tell it doesn’t seem to be a burnt out LED because the snow on the hatch wasn’t melting like I would expect it to melt.

Use the fuse puller. It is the white thingy in the bottom right hand corner of the fuse box.

You say the rear was not defrosting like usual. Do you mean it was sort of working? If so then there is nothing wrong. It either works or it doesn't

Use your credit card to pry out the dome lens cover.

The fuse is bigger than the std 10, 15 amp size. (It's one of those square ones so the fuse puller doesn't work.

The dome light is fixed I started my pry with a CC and finished with a butter knife.

We can't tell if the defogger works or not. The light is out. The rear wires by the tail light, and wiper look good. I haven't had fog or ice back there to know if it works at all... I put my voltmeter on the wires on the glass and got just under 2V when it was on, but I don't think that means anything.

Maybe it's just the button.

OK right it is one of the large ones.

It could be the switch itself. I guess could check that by checking continuity by bypassing it.

Turns out one of the 2 LED bulbs doesn't work. The bulbs are under those screws.

^that seems to be a common problem, my light sometimes doesn't turn on as well, but the defroster works for sure...

I can't get picture to open. Did you replace some bulbs with LEDs?

Sorry about photos

I'm sorry but I'm having difficulties posting photos on this site.

Yes I ordered 2 bulbs from the Honda Dealer (their service dept helped me find the release tabs on the switch.) The bottoms of the bulbs look like screws.

They are 2 different colors. Yellow and Blue. This produces the green light. I have other photos I hope to post that show how I can tell at least 1 of the bulbs is out and details on how to remove & etc.

Duh I just looked at my Service manual and can see the bulbs you are referring to. Interesting why they need two bulbs in there for such a small switch.

You need to upload your pictures to a photo site like PhotoBucket. Then link to here.
