Removing the center console

Bought my Fit Saturday.

Installing Sirius radio. Going well but I need to get into the console.

I don't want to dig into what I think should be a 5 minute job but because I screwed something up it's now a 5 hour job. That said....

Removing the center console.

Two pins up front.
Two screws in back.

But....

...looking at the console it would appear that something needs to be done about the shift lever but I've no idea what.

Anybody wanna throw a newb a bone?
