magnesium paddle shifters

my question is, why exactly are companies like mitsubishi making a point on their commercials to mention they have magnesium paddle shifters?

is there a difference between these and the paddle shifters on the fit?

sorry if this is a repeat, didn't find anything on the search.

thanks

cheffyjay is on a distinguished road
It makes no difference what the paddles are made out of, mentioning the fact that they are made out of mag. is just a gimmick. (Why aren't they made out of Carbon Fiber!?!) They are just switches. Personally I think I'd prefer the grippy rubber that is on the back of the Fit paddles.
