DIY Si Seats In '07 Honda Fit
#61
That passenger side seatbelt relocation looks damn sketchy. Two pipe clamps and self tapping screws will not keep your passenger in place in an accident. For anyone following this "DIY" in the future you might want to rethink that step.

Does anybody have a list of compatible seats with the Honda Fit (non sport model).
I get severe sciatica like pain (in butt, leg, foot) when I try to drive it and attempts to modify the seat with a pillow doesn't help. It seems to cause more back pain issues.
Also is anyone located around Madison, Wisconsin? I would like to ask if someone who knows how to do this can install a seat for me as I have no knowledge of how this is done. I don't want to have to sell my Fit just to change out the seat. (I'm 5'8" at 155lbs.)
I never had this issue with a 1989 Ford Escort that I had from 1994 - 2011. I bought the fit second hand in 2012 and within a year had several hours of sciatica that I still have and can't seem to get rid of especially if I'm attempting to drive the car for more than 30 minutes. (Huge problem as one can imagine!)

Post a new thread. I think you'll get better response. Personally I don't know the answer about your seat swap question.
I suggest you tackle this both on the body and seat front. I'm not suggesting modifying the seats has no merit, because it does, but it may or may not help resolve your particular situation. Its always unclear what someone means by "sciatica" but if you mean back pain that is something about your own body, not the seat. At times I have found certain seats to be intolerable, but as my body has aged and gotten stronger and weaker in various ways, those same seats have changed in comfort.
I used to have terrible very-low back pain and had to carry a little pad for every car ride or be in quite a state. Now not so much. Many deadlifts and ten years getting to be an old man changed that. Now upper back hurts but in new and better ways 🙄
