you know what? as much weight as it saves, i dont think it does you any good. the weight distribution in the fit is soooo much towards the front, that having that extra weight in the rear may be a good thing. thats why i never took mine out. oh and i think its ridiculous when people make a 4 door car a two seater. just my opinion tho.

taking them out seems pretty straight forward/easy.

Yeah thats what I was thinking with the whole weight distribution. The only thing i do is have them down most of the time cus 1) I can see better and 2) I think it would lower the center of gravity a little. I tried taking them out the other day cus I noticed there was a screw going under the seat but when I tried pulling up on the carpet it felt like it was gonna break soo I stopped. Ohh and another plus with the rear seat delete is all my friends either roll with a MR2 or a civic with out a rear seat soo my car is always the designated car to go in cus I can fit 5 ppl..

just pull on that carpet. they have these plastic pins that wont break. and you need to take off the baby anchor plastic piece to separate the spare tire cover from the seats. then you have 4 bolts and you are on your way to making people take their own damn car.

that is why mine are out.

the weigh transfer feels differant too. (but i have no dyno results to prove that statement)

I pulled them a while back because I never have more than one person in my car. It takes only a few minutes and the combined weight for both seats is pretty substantial. I just took a razor knife and cut along the front edge of the spare tire cover carpet so it could stay in the car, I don't see why they were connected anyway aside from maybe aesthetic reasons when the seats are folded down. Obviously that doesn't matter now since they are gone.
