I had a 60 degree bend before the filter, but I swapped that out for a 90 degree. Now the sound isn't as loud and is much better how it sounds.

Mine isn't as loud as you seem to be describing yours. It is definitely louder than just a stock air box but not really loud.

One thing you will notice is when your car makes any kind of noise at first you think it is really loud and after a couple of days you realize how loud it isn't.

I think there was something not working right when I was using the 60 degree bend, making it create excessive noise beyond 2k rpm. Right now with the 90 degree bend, I can hear the difference but it's something I can hear and know that it's sounding the way it should be. I'll need to adjust to the difference from a stock box but I'm liking it so far.

Only trouble I'm going to have is remembering when to clean and re-oil the filter - I wonder if the K&N recharge kit will work? As for intervals, every 50,000 miles like a K&N sound about okay or maybe a bit too long?

LOL, I know right? thanks to this thread and hondafittuner injen intake tutorial, I knew it would fit with slight modification.

Just had mine done today! Looks, sounds, and performs great!!

We had to saw down one of the bends since it was hitting the battery at regular length.

We did mine yesterday too, since is like hell on earth as far as heat goes down here in texas we had to wait till about 730 and put it in before we lost all light, but it went in easily except that we couldnt find the 5/8 bit so we had to work the hole until the o-ring fit. But other than that it was sweet. We did the 2 90 degree bends and after a little jiggling, we got it in and didnt even have to move the battery! I'll post my pic a little later!

As you can see my post above I just put the intake on, but a quick question, is anyone noticing gears taking longer to change? With a steady foot on automatic it takes about 3500 rpm to change between 3rd & 4th. Or is it just the computer starting to readjust? I checked real quick for a leak but everything looked good.

I got a 90 and mistakingly bought a 45 and it theres not enough room but im interested if 2 90s will!!

Yes you can use 2 90 degree angles, it helps if you loosen the battery bolt and slide the battery as much to the left as you can. But I used the 2.5-3.0 coupler, 2 90 degree bends and the filter. I think with the two bends it sounds alot deeper too!

2 90s on it now n i love it. a little more of a growl then just one 90 and i cant believe how easy it all was....+1 for sid

a 90 and a 45 will work you just got to do some squeezing in there and move the battery.

That's what I used, a 90 and 45. A little battery shift and rotating the radiator hose clamp did the trick. Great mod...kudos to Sid.

thats the setup i want to do a 900 and a 45 but i wanna use 2.5 inch pipe anyone know any place i could get that? cuz i tried autozone and they only have 3 inch

Ok quick question now that we have these intakes in, how do we clean the engine? Before I used to just take it down to the car wash put some degreaser and rinse, but I know we shouldn't get this filter wet, should I wrap a towel or put plastic over it? Any suggestions?
