This is one of the best mod you can do!!!
It's the TB of a Bmw Z3 (Bosch)
I prefer it to throttle controller or new intake manifold...
The car runs like a diesel with 6000 rpm!
The first noticeable increase is the faster revs of the rpm.
I think there is a great increase in torque and hp too...
It's easier than you think...
same plug;
same bolts.
These trhottle bodies are made by Bosch, so you don't have to be worried about nothing: they work in the same way!
The only thing you have to build is a gasket between intake manifold and new throttle body (I used a can of coke!!!! It was the fist thing I founded in my garage) and a conic joint inside new TB from 64mm to 45mm (I used my wife's plastic breadbord).
I'll post other pictures tomorrow
PS I forgot to say that this TB hasn't water passages and that I'm not going to do dyno test before finishing all my mods!!
dont know if he is all over honda tech but i ask people on honda tech and no one responded with any info.
having warranty sucks thats why i wanted to send mine in. Stock look and dealer would never know and he could do the same to the IM
I ported my OEM, an act of stupidity. The idle got high and fluctuated like a older Honda with a bad TPS.
But damn the car pulled nice. I barely ported it too.
I bought an OEM for cheap. (I think theyre $400)
I tried to take it into Honda saying the idle got high. *LAUGHS!*
They inspected it for an hour and didnt even find out it was ported. They noticed my coolant lines being bypassed and blamed it on that.
And yes, as asked above.... What year BMW? Im so doing this.
Theres no Check Engine Lights? Everythings fine. Car idles and drives the same?
Porting the OEm TB without getting a larger butterfly will cause high idle problems. ....
64mm is great provided the hole in the plenum is that large otherwise you'll be adding som major turbulance to the scene... if the Plenum is lrger than the butterfly then rock on!!!!!

Has anyone proven that the stock TB is restricting flow? From what I have read, the DBW does not even allow full opening of the butterfly, so how does this help. I want dyno charts and AF measurments.
I have a question about the dbw. I remember reading somewhere about the k24 in tsx's that where being moded and had the dbw disabled and the car worked fine. I'll try to dig up the article, but can't the dbw just be bypassed and work like a "normal" TB?

One day a group of soulmates figured out that you got to look behind the world of visible phenomenons to really find out things the others have not allready discovered.
If you get a larger TB, you still require a reducer (coke bottle in this case) and end up restricting the airflow anyway as it goes into the manifold... do you not?
