wheres the turn signal flasher?

I'm gonna be installing some led lights for front & rear turn signals.
I was looking to see if I will need the relay flasher for led lights.
but it appears that the flasher is built in the instrument cluster???

I got the amber 7440 reflector bulbs, they have 24 leds, with 6 leds around the sides to light up the reflector.

they are for the front & rear.
They come in amber, red & white. So you can get some for your backup lights.

Thumbs down Hyperflashing confirmed

Just confirmed led turn signal bulbs cause hyperflashing.
THey will need an inline load resister to make them flash properly.

hyperflashing is when your turn signals flash real fast

Thumbs up You need a load equalizer

I put HID LED turn signals on mine. You'll have to use load equalizers since honda intigrated the flasher unit into the instrument cluster so you can't replace it.

Here's where I got mine from http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm
You'll want 2 of these: One on each side covers front and rear.

3 OHM DELUXE ALUMINUM
50 Watt LED Load Equalizers

The insallation Diagram link is right below the equalizers

Here is where I installed mine.
Passengers side, on the strut housing.

Drivers side, in the chanel in front of the battery below the air intake you'll have to take the stock intake off to get to it.

Load equalizers get very hot very fast so they needed to be somewhere they could get air and away from anything plastic as they will melt plastic. And they will burn you if you touch them after just a few bulb flashes.

That will make your turn signals flash at the normal rate.

Unhappy Turn Signal Flasher on the U.S. FIT (Location)

You can forget about changing the flasher to an LED compatable one and just go ahead and put in Load Equalizers. Here is where it is just so you know.
That's it at the tip of the screwdriver.

It's integrated into the instrument cluster directly behind the top of the speedometer. I took my dash apart to find the blasted thing.
Back of the cluster opened.

Back of the cluster closed.

Front of the cluster with dash apart.

As you can see you're better off just using Load Equalizers. I used (2) 3 Ohm 50 Watt equalizers one for each side of the car, mounted them in the engine compartment and wired them to the front turn signal wiring. There are pics of where I mounted them already in this forum.

I got my equalizers here http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm. Installation directions are provided right below them in a link.

Good luck and be careful if you decide to tear your dash apart it's a little tricky the first time.

thanks for the pics, I wanted to avoid as much load as possible on the alternator by using led bulbs all around.
I guess its not convient to do on the fit.

You're welcome. No but you can change some to LED like the license plate lights, the interior light in the back and the dome light. But if you do the dome light you'll lose the fade out funtion it has.

You could probably do the tail lights as well since there are both tail lights and stop/tail lights. On the stock set up the top red lights are just tail and the bottom ones are both stop/tail. The 3rd brake light is also a possability. As well as the back up lights.

Dome light
DE3175
License plate
168
Trunk/Cargo area
168
High mount stop light (3rd brake light)
7440
Tail light
7443
Back up light
7440

Good luck.

Slow Flasher

Hey, in my Toyota 4Runner, i had LED turn signals. As you know, LED's take less power than conventional light bulbs, therfore, my turn signals hyperflashed. All i needed to do was put a slow flasher inplace of the OEM flasher unit. (That or put a resistor of soome sort before the LED bulbs) Anyway, what i'm wondering is if anyone know where to get a slow flasher for the USDM 2007 Honda Fit Sport AT and/or, since the flasher unit is behind the gauge cluster, is it even interchangable?? I REALLY want to have all my exterior lights LED so i dont'have to worry about changing them. If you've tried to change your bulbs in the Fit/Jazz, you know how difficult they are. Any help would be awesome.

PS: I still have the slow flasher from my 4Runner so if i can use that one, even better.
