2009 Honda Fit

Yesterday I found the first test drive of the 2009 Honda Fit on edmunds:

Well there you have it...the 2009 Honda Fit. I actually like it alot more than the current one and for good reason; it has more power (118hp) and a longer wheelbase (+2") -this fit is gonna rock! Can't wait for it to hit showrooms!

I wish someone at Honda would say what color that 2009 RS was. It's an unusual dark purple. I'm grabbing at straws here!

i wouldn't mind having a gaping moonroof like that though.
also wouldn't mind the powerplant options. i-vtec...
the only good pic is where they're taking the strong left and you get a future glimpse of a lowered 09' fit, which doesn't look too bad.

I like the looks and it will open up alot of aftermarket support with 70,000 units for 09!

Looks sweet! I like the pics, but i think it will look even more impressive in person. When you see these things on the road they will look like nothing else on the road which is cool, they look very futuristic! Cant wait!

Great to see a sunroof. Might have to wait for it instead of buying an 08 in the spring.

Though with the way the antenna is, it looks like the sunroof has nowhere to go. Anyone want to make a guess on it being like the old glasstop crxes instead of a true sunroof? If so, that would suck.

Although I'm really disliking the front of the car, I'm loooving the glass roof! Seeing the navi in the interior makes me sad. I'm jealous.

It glass roof is called a skyroof. I don't think it will be anything that will open and I would be shocked to see it come over on the NA version, since Honda will want to maintain a very high safety rating on it.

The skyroof is fixed as per edmunds. The honda element has a similar roof (albeit in the rear) so it's not a far fetched idea that it would end up here.

Well, that sucks. I guess there would always be the aftermarket for a sunroof, as there is for the 07s & 08s - hopefully, the supports would allow for it.

Honda probably wont offer the sky roof here but its not for safety reasons. The portion where the glass exists isn't structual anyways, so it doesn't make the car unsafe.

Honda probably wont offer the option here for the same reason that they dont offer automatic climate control for example.

Don't forget that the pictures are of the Japanese Fit and I didn't like their domestic short-nosed model either.
We have to wait until the 2009 NA model comes out and see what changes are made. (Maybe we'll even get a Canadian made diesel engine.) LOL
