Who cares what the set-up looks like? I've done assisting for a photographer before and heck - the best shoots we had were jerry-rigged like mad. What you don't see is how the job gets done - the results are what matters! Try having models with clothespins all down the back of the dress b/c the models are so skinny....the front is what shows!

^ Yep, BTDT, many times. The clothes never fit because they are loaned to the shoot, not tailored to the skinny models' bodies, so clothespins work the best b/c no holes in the clothes. If people knew what fashion shoots where really like....the times I was speeding all over town getting one thing and then another b/c the photog needed some effect...or the tie was missing...or the model tore a stocking...or...or...or...and then trying to get the clothing back to the loaning store w/o any marks on them...

I love to show my family photographs I helped with and tell them what we had to do to get the shot...it's hilarious.

CAMERA: Panasonic Lumix LX5
RESOLUTION: 720p AVCHD
FRAME RATE: 30 frames per second
EDITING: Non-existent, just basic clipping under AnyVideoConverter
WEB HOSTING: YouTube
CAMERA MOUNT: Joby Gorillapod Zoom, legs wrapped around one of my Recaros' headrests/shoulder harness pass-through

FEEDBACK/COMMENTS:
So far so good, for a "poor man's GoPro" rig. I like how the footage can be easily reviewed immediately after shooting. The only complaint I have with my setup is that the onboard microphone picks up rattling from the camera itself. It's not obvious when in motion but it's audible when idling. This is where a good suction-cup mount will pay dividends. It's also a bit of work attaching the Gorillapod to the camera and to the seat and not as convenient as bespoke suction-cup jobs.

I'm looking into a Contour+2 in the future.

A photo of my "poor man's GoPro" rig.

It's worked really really well so far. The only real downside is rattling, but I guess that's just part of the game.
