The defective water heater had soaked insulation so it was probably 150+ pounds, and the New one was a little less than that but the box barely fit the hatch opening, I think less than 2" clearance at the top box was 5' high, about 2 feet deep and about 3 feet wide or however wide the bottom of the hatch opening is before it curves to the sides.

When I was at homedepot I parked in the middle of the lot out in the open, day laborers were 20 feet away watching and pretty sure laughing and sayin stuff out loud at first. Thought this little asian guy couldnt get the old heater in and the new one in to this little Honda Fit. Once they saw the achievable they were quiet A nice man offered to use his truck, but I said jokingly "oh no i think i'm fine, this is my truck.*smiles*" but he didn't get the joke and kept walking.

Has anyone put an 8' 2x4 in an 09 fit?
This may help w/ my car purchase decision (silly as it sounds).

from the water heater to the windshield should be more than 2 feet. (I have a 08 Fit though)
the passenger seat can be reclined all the way down so the 2x4's are not up in the air.

The longest length you have is 7' 9" with no front passenger. Now that's Honda's measurement, and from what I checked that is from the glove box to the rear hatch. You might be able to slightly angle it and put it on top of the glove box (up to the winsheild) and it might fit.

But I doub't you'd be able to fit that many 2x4's in that configuration.

I knew our Fits were spacious, but water heaters!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I love this car more and more every day.

Great pics suketoborudo00!

My 09 Fit did not come with that Cargo Cover. Should it have come with it? If not, where can I get one? It's ridiculous having the stuff in my cargo area out in the open.

old-fashioned station wagon

rattling around the back of an old-fashioned station wagon. I grew up riding in small sedans. We drive a five-year-old Civic now and are about to need to fill our trunk with baby gear (strollers and so on).

The Fit supposedly has over 20 cubic feet of space behind the back seat. Our trunk has a little over 12. Yet the Fits we've seen look tiny through the back window. And our trunk looks pretty large

LVB18Civic will become famous soon enough
I recently went to AZ on vacation and the wife and I went shopping at Ikea. We got a Queen size platform bed frame, 2 nightstands, a coffee table, 3 end tables and a couple lamps in the fit . I have also had at a different time had a complete B-series swap in the back. I love the space inside my fit.
