Show me: What can you fit in your Fit?

My wife and I are confused about the cargo space in a hatchback.

She grew up rattling around the back of an old-fashioned station wagon. I grew up riding in small sedans. We drive a five-year-old Civic now and are about to need to fill our trunk with baby gear (strollers and so on).

The Fit supposedly has over 20 cubic feet of space behind the back seat. Our trunk has a little over 12. Yet the Fits we've seen look tiny through the back window. And our trunk looks pretty large (although of course the ceiling is a bit lower).

What can you actually fit in back there? How is the space bigger than what I see under my trunk lid?

Please - post photos! Show me what I haven't seen yet (as all the photos here seem to be of the cars' outsides)!

Um i've fit stuff in there that i knew wasn't gonna fit. Like i look at it and its like nah it ain't gonna work. Then tried anyway and poof. I don't really have any photos but yeah. Baby stoller check, you could probably put it back there witihout even folding it LMAO. I don't picture you putting much back there that won't fit. I've put a set of 28" rims and tires that wernt mounted in the back of my fit after laying the seat down. That might not mean much to you but those are some big A$$ rims. To be completely honest there isn't much that won't fit in the fit. especially with some inginuity

as a test put your wife in the back part and shut the hatch so you can physically get an idea how big it is. letting her out is up to you though.

ok jokes aside, my parents bought a 42 inch plasma one day and thought they needed the store to deliver it, nahhhh. the box was about 12 inches by (estimation) 37 by maybe 50. Dont think i put in the trunk space, nope, not the roof either, the back seat! wanna know how? some people forget this, the seat folds up so you have more "height room" and some width as well. opened both back doors, slide that thing gently and easy [ooh that sounded dirty ] and voila. easy to take out too. My idea to you, put the right seat of the fit for the baby and the middle-left seat will fold up so u can put the stroller and voila. AND!!!! you still got the trunk space. so feel like shoppin? cargo space wont be the one stoppin you (unfortunatly for you lol)

I just bought a 37" LCD tv today and a ps3 and it all fit in with no problem only had to have one seat in the back down i could still have fit another person in the back seat. Um i have put a front bumper to my evo in it. IT fits almost any thing trust me. On all my road trips i have slept in the back when i put the seats down not to bad.

haha that is awsome, that's why I like the fit so much. Lots of cargo space and even with full load, it still gets 30+mpg!

Love that!!! hahaha

but yea like everyone said you put a lot stuff, for me I was able to a 77" wood table top from ikea in the fit, then another time 3 37" LCD with two people, another time 25 pairs of LED trail lights for the Fit once, and so on......

Seats-down capacity is huge but I won't have the luxury

I know, I know, the cargo room in a Fit with the seats down is gargantuan. Except we expect to have an infant seat in the right rear seat, and we aren't even sure whether that will allow the left rear seat to recline.

What I haven't got a sense of is what fits in a Fit when one or both of the rear seats is up. The hatchback space looks smaller than a sedan's trunk, although the numbers say it's considerably larger (even, apparently, measuring just to the height of the rear seats - and that dryer definitely stuck up above that level), and I need help understanding this.

More pictures? Please?
