New wheels

OK mods are almost done for now, just waiting on my LED tails. MB Five-X wheels, 16x7 40mm offset, Yokohama AVID H4S, 205/45-16. I had some rubbing over the back on the way home from work with the stock wheels and tires back there, hoping that goes away. I wasn't expecting to get any rub issue since I am not lowered at all, so that was a bit disappointing! Any suggestions on a way to remedy that?

good looking BOM. i rub with 15x7 +40 but im lowered. im sure removing the weight from the car would remedy it, aslo the bumper bracket inside the fender sticks out a ways. slicing that baby off a little bit should really take care of it. there how-tos on the forum somewhere. hth<~~~steve

It may be due to the offset of the 16", unless try the 205/40 instead but there goes another set of tires and they're not cheap. Hope that will help out your situation. I'm surprised that those wheels rub on stock suspension.

Nice set up, by the way!

MB Motoring, its the brand of wheel, Five-X is the style. Discount Tire sells a lot of their wheels.

Well I still had some rubbing even after the extra weight was removed. Its not a lot, only over decent size bumps, but being a new car and all I'd prefer that not to happen. I also have no plans to lower it at all, though I do agree it would look good that way. I have to carry crap in back a lot, and have my 2 kids in there every day, so lowering really wont work for me.

I'll have to look around back there some more to see if I can tell exactly where it is hitting.

i don't have any idea why you'd have rubbing? you aren't even lowered./ right? i have 16x7 wheels +38 offset, same tire size, AND im lowered and i don't rub in the back.. hmm

It must be that slightly different offset, mine are 40mm. Mine doesnt rub hard, at least it doesnt sound like it, so we'll see what I can do to fix it.

i thought my wheels were ugly till i dropped my car. made the wheels look 100X better

could be the tires man. you could be running the same specs of tire but in another brand and maybe rubbing would stop. Many people claim the falken ziex to be the 1 tire that fix this prob. due to its sidewall
Looks good man btw
