Testing with G-Tech Pro

Hey everyone, my buddy just picked up a G-Tech Pro monitoring system for free and I decided to try it out. Here are the readings that I got with my car through the G-Tech Pro. I know that it's now 100% accurate, but hey, I'm just playing around.

STOCK according to magazines
Horsepower: 109 HP

0-60: 11.45
1/4 Mile: 18.39

STOCK according to dyno’s

Horsepower: 89.86HP

Now my friend and I decided to test his car since it’s stock so here are the numbers

Stock
Horsepower: 95HP
0-60: 11.38 seconds
1/4 Mile: 18.10 @ 75.2 mph
1/8 Mile: 11.52 @ 59.7mpg
330 ft: 7.53seconds

With Mod's
1. T1R Carbon Intake
2. 5Zigen axle back w/ silencer on (more torque)
3. DC 4-1 header
4. Spoon B-Pipe

Horsepower: 105 HP
0-60: 10.53 seconds
1/4 Mile: 17.80 @ 78.5 mph

1/8 Mile: 11.48 @ 61.7 mph
330 ft: 7.45 seconds
80km-0: 0.89g under braking.

Personally, I found that with the Fireball muffler and the Spoon B-Pipe, my exhaust was WAY TOO loud so I'm taking it out. I'll post my runs after i reinstall the OEM b-pipe.

Like I stated above, the HP rating will be off, only a dyno will be 100% accurate, but hey, it's just playing around.

Its because its a canister muffler. Any canister muffler with a header and B-pipe mods will be pretty loud. You need a muffler with more sound muffeling.

Seems like the info from the Gtech is pretty accurate. Your car is auto right?

Not trying to flame here...but since when was a dyno 100% accurate?
Different dynos will spit out different numbers with even the same dyno varying run by run. That said, using the same dyno for baseline measurements in betweeen mods is a great means of quantifying improvements.

Have fun with the free toy!

gtech web site shows $ 199.99 for the SS model and 299.99 for the RR.
Here's the web site, looks interesting.

OK Here's the next step with my mods, I've now added the T1R Test Pipe:

With Mod's (By the way, I had a HORRIBLE start)
1/4 Mile: 17.72 seconds @ 75.6 MPH
0-60 MPH: 10.55

Stock
0-60: 11.38 seconds
1/4 Mile: 18.10 @ 75.2 mph

I REALLY don't like the exhaust noise now so my plans are to just play around with the after-market performance parts with my stock parts and we'll see what the best combo is.

Wow

I thought it would run alittle better then that. But I guess with a bad start....off the line is everything! You have an Auto as well...right? So with a complete header back exhaust system and a short ram you ran a 17.78 quarter mile time?

Guys, I'll admit I am bias when it comes to G-Tech.
My best man is a friend with Jovan, the inventor of G-Tech.
I personally do not have the unit, but I can tell you the man has some serous schools behind him and is certifiable car nut. Cars in commercials are his! Supra and M3!
Unit does not tap into anything except cigarette lighter socket for power.
It measures g forces in real time and performs factual calculations.
G forces measurements in real time replace tire wheel with sensors attached or optical lights. That is stone age now. When they say in commercial that "others tested it and now test with it" is not a BS! That small device due it's operational principles blows away many sophisticated devices and their shear complexity which adds margins of error. Dyno's are great but figures vary due to it's efficiency. Driving a car on rollers does not factor in real driving with wind resistance, ram air induction, intercooling,.......... This gadget does! Big fans on dynos prevent overheating, but do nothing for efficiency.
The only biased information you need to enter is vehicle weight for horsepower calculation. Do it at the weight station and adjust accordingly for fuel loads and you will be right on the money. Do not cheat otherwise calculation will be off! If you do not feel like disclosing your body weight, just include it in the weight of the vehicle and fuel! LOL!
