Autocrossing GD3 in STF
#21
How are Fit's running 6UL 15x7.5 wheels in STF class? With a +42 offset it would violate the 1/4" max offset from OE (+55 ET). Did the rules change throughout the years when people rans those wheels?

The old "Stock" class, now known as "Street" still has the 1/4"/6mm max change from stock offset rules.

What is STF considered? I'm confused now.

Haha, no worries! "STF" = Street Touring FWD. Street Touring is the main "class" and FWD is the sub class for our porky little grocery getters lol

Here is actually a link to the PDF for the 2014 SCCA Solo rules, take a look! https://www.dropbox.com/s/tnzkyoy3qz...nd%20links.pdf

For strut bars it's a little tricky, byt if you start with no bar like we do, you can add a two point one! I use the Custco one that mounts into the rear seat lock points

Just out of curiosity would it be more advantageous for strut bar if you mounted it diagonally? Say drivers c-pillar to passengers shock tower since you can utilize only two mounts? I think that would tighten the chassis up some.

Glad I went through the rules again today after it was pointed out that there is no offset rule in STF. Just Street class has the offset rule. These definitely help sway my Volk purchase today. Looking forward to the track next week to test these out.

Question for all the racers.
Today when racing I experiences what felt like "No brake pedal". I just put new EBC slotted and yellow stuff pads. It already went through the bedding process. The feeling I got occurred on my 7th or 8th run (ran 2 classes today).
When coming up to a hard 90* I got on the brakes hard and the car just skidded out with no pedal feel. It felt identical to stepping on the brakes with your car off. There was pressure but nothing was kinda working. Does that make sense? What that the ABS going nuts?

What "Race aids" Previc93? ABS?
Yeah I'm still learning the ropes to AutoX. Today I had a good instructor help me out. Cut my time down but I still need to work on smoothing into the break, break hard, smooth out with the fastness. I'll get there.

Yes abs... but I didn't know you were just learning. Keep it on so it will help u feel when you pushed the pedal too hard. The like the other guy said release the pedal and press again. You will learn how to modulate the pedal.
I trail brake all the time to help the car to rotate. And if you do that with the abs on it will go into abs braking because it is sensing wheel slip even though it may not be slipping. My inside rear tire lifts on turns and if I barely tap the brakes that wheel will stops.
