Hi guys,
I'm a super noob at the whole honda world and i was wondering if you guys could tell me how big i can go on some wheels for my fit performance wise. i'm using my Fit as a daily driver and i also plan to race it on tracks? should i stay with 16x7? like the HFP wheels? should i go bigger? also, what offset should i look for? i think i read somewhere that stock offset is 35, so should i stay with 35? go higher/lower? and also what tires should i get? and i don't know if this helps but im planing to put Tanabe GF210
springs that drop the car 1.5 inches and i plan to go with the RAYS/VOLK/GRAM LIGHTS line of wheels. thanks for you input in advance.
I'm sure its possible but your going to have to:
1) make sure you have the right offset. (factory is +55mm)
2) roll the fenders or you might get rubbing from the fenders when you have people/stuff in the rear.
3) play around with sizing of the tires to get them to fit under there.
Just to give you some info on my Fit. we tried +42mm enkeis with the factory recommended 205/45R16's but I had rubbing when two people in the rear, but it was only on bumps when travelling. so i tried to shave the hubs but couldn't for safety reasons. So I just got in a 195/50R16 to see if I can get it to fit inside with out rubbing. If so then Fit owners can get get +42mm on and have no rubbing. but at the same time we loose tread by 10mm so performance might be compromised.
Ok well they arn't 8inch wide but I just got the 16x7 +42mm Enkei's to fit with 195/50r16 michelin pilots. i threw about 800lbs of people in the rear and i didn't get any rub.
So if your not too worried about the extra 10mm of tire this setup will work
I have the tanabe gf210s with the 1.2" drop and 16" x 7 with no rub issues. Id stick with the right tire size ratio so u dont mess up your speedo readout (205?/50/15s) but you should still have quite a bit of clearance
oh and the handling is amazing!
Just be warned that going to larger overall diameter will not only affect your speedo (which can be calibrated) but it will also hurt your acceleration and braking. Maybe H&R will make their OE sport spring for the Fit. They have little drop but have better spring rates. Might be worth an email to them.

No longer a Honda owner, fun but not the right car for me.
My plan is to roll on the red Sportmax 002 on my vivid blue, but the low offset is what makes it kinda sketchy for me. Im not sure how far it will stick out but i just planned on rolling the fenders and and adding some flares similar to the one on the xB in the sportmax ad. I'd like to hear others' suggestions on what i should do. Thanks.
It would all depend on the width of the wheel and the tires as to how much you will need. You are going to need more than just rolling the fenders though. If I can help with the tires let me know.
i was thinking of going with ES100s in 205/50 but i heard someone else on the board ran 195/50s on an 8 inch wide wheel so now i don't know....any advice?
You will find it hard to roll the rear.... The rear bumper joins the fender nearly at the top. You can roll the metal part of the fender but you cannot roll plastic.
I took a look at it when fitting wheels to mine (wanted to fit 7.5x 17 et35) but decided it was just too much hassle for a daily driver.
Roger that. i may have to rethink my decision on wheels. My second choice was Gab wheels. I believe those would work better, but i really wanted that VIP style deep lip....oh well.
sport max wheels are for sure not VIP style. Honestly you would need to do more work then its worth to fit those 400 dollar wheels. If you want a VIP style wheel look at the Work Euroline series, Weds, AME, AX, or Fabulous to name a few.
