MYx, milling the back spacing is a good idea to bring up the offset, maybe like 3mm. Just wondering if it will effect the strength of the wheel after doing that.

There is nothing right about 18" on a Jazz in General
Hi, I believe the young man's question was if 18 inch wheels fit or not on the Jazz. Applying the same over-all diameter and with the proper offset it will fit but then you must know there may be other issues like fender rubbing, slower off the line acceleration and some suspension issues in the long run.
If you're going for that size and are willing to accept those compromises for looks why stop there? Get the 19's... BLING!!!

Hi all I'm a newbie here! My wheels are supposed to be 42 off-set not that I understand what it means so long as there are no fender rubbing issues.
How about posting pics of your wheels? Here's mine.

I'll just wait for our K20 project in a couple of weeks time.
hello kabayan, i'm currently working southern China. anyway planning to get my own Jazz (Fit here) as soon as Guangzhou Honda changes the rear brakes to disk for the 1.5Vtec. here its priced about RMB118K (P778K) on the road - meaning after all the taxes / insurance /etc.
so after reading your post i am really interested in knowing the progress of your K20 project. problem is if i get the 1.5 (which i really like because of the sunroof comes standard) , i fell like i wasted my money if i just change the motor later. But if i do get the 1.3, the Sunroof is not even an option so i can have it all. anyway, last time i asked around Evangelista the guy quoted me P350K complete with engine, suspension bits (w/c are not usable for the Jazz), brembo brakes, 17inch rims, front Recaro seats. i thought it was a bit pricey. anyway would really appreciate all the info. about your own Jazz (Fit) Dynamite

Yes, I thought about that. I'll ask this shop first as to how much can be milled off. They've done this kind of thing before and they have a fair idea as to what a wheel can and cannot hold once this procedure is performed.

Mabuhay JDM parakito... I was there at Zhuhai last May for the Asian Formula 3 race. Saw lotsa Fits there with sunroofs! Wanted to look for a junkshop for totalled Fits with salvageable rooflines, but I just didn't have the time and info where to start looking. hehehe...
The K20 project is being done by a friend on his Jazz. Lemme just say it's a work in progress and should be out in time for the local Custom Car show at the end of September. Most parts of the DC5 halfcut were used, or will be used, including the suspension and brakes. They're working on the bodywork right now and it should be done by the end of August with the in-car entertainment to follow. I think he'll be using 18s on his Jazz. I'll just post pics when it's done. It's major work and really not recommended for the faint of heart. hehehe I think his running cost, including the new car and the halfcut has exceeded a million pesos already.

hi MYx, been to Zhuhai last year but only to enjoy the scenery. i know i need to go back to watch one of the races there. do you have site that posts schedule of the races there? anyway, regarding the Fit Dynamite would really be a sure fire hit. the over mil Peso budget is to be expected given the high demand and price for the K20A engine. but i really never thought those things could bolt on as i thought there were totally different. i guess when u think of the Engine/subframe having the same alignments then just change all the bits like lower arm, knuckles then everything will fit. Then imagine the the strut mounting points need some drilling work as they don't have enough holes for the DC5 MacPherson struts. the rear suspension i suspect would also be next to impossible as the half-cut would yield 'reactive double wishbone' as the Fit/Jazz uses twist beam suspension right? oh i don't know. would really appreciate if your friend documented this swap so we'd have a guide later for all the dreamy enthusiasts out there. okay so if u'r intested in the sunroof. i'll look into it if i do ever find out where the chop shops/wreck yard is.
does any one know whats the weight on the stock alloys of the Fit 14 inch rims
cos im planning on gettin these 15inch Kosei rims and it weighs like 13lbs
Any rubbing issues with that offset? Overall, very nice but could of set off the overall appearance if you went with a darker color wheel.
No rubbing issues as of now.
Yeah, you're not the only one saying that about the color of the wheel . For now I'm just content that problem is solved and it looks a lot clearner now with the Steel Gray with polished lip.
I am planning to get a set of Rota Rim 17" with 4 Yokohama 215/45 R17 A520. Please give me some comments. More on the negative impact please!
Thanks
Hi Votek, I'm using 215/40/17s right now and I lowered the car by about 1.5". I have a perennial problem with fender and tire rubbing in the rear. I would suggest you use 205/45/17s instead if you're having issues with our road conditions. 215/45 would be too tall, and too wide and you will have fender rubbing issues especially with four people on board even if you're not lowered.
If you're not going to lower your car 205/45/17 would be just right. If you will lower, I suggest use 205/45/17 with a magwheel width of no more than 7 (better if 6.5 if it exists) and offset of 48.
Another issue with 17s is the weight of the wheel. Acceleration will be affected a bit but in my case it's negligible since my objective is more for form rather than function. Surprisingly though, if you're using a CVT Jazz, acceleration is still perky for that wheel size and you can still go up Baguio without the engine hinting on having a hard time.
Drop by the GD United Forum as well at www.hondaclub.com.ph so you can have inputs from other Jazz owners.
Does anyone know what aftermarket rims and offset are correct for the honda fit.I have Alessio 17 inch rims with 205/40 tires and apex lowering springs with a 1 1/2 inch drop those rims offset is [(i think) 45,if i'm wrong tell me please] and i don't have any problems with tires rubbing. But i have to use spacers up front or else the rims touch the calipers, the the rear is perfect(no problems). i'm more concerned about the offset because i'm still using factory struts and i know that if you dont have the correct offset it puts more pressure on your struts causing your fronts to ride more on the outside of the tires noticable in tire tread wear.
Yeah. Touching on looks (I understand the original questions has been answered), I personally feel that 18"+ will look absolutely rediculous. The 17's linked to above are pushing it. It's not my cup of tea, but they're alright. But I could garauntee you that if I saw a small car like the Fit with 18"ers I'd probably fall over laughing.
16's look real nice, IMO, with a 195 or 205/50 tire. I've seen a couple pics with those size tires on a 16" wheel and it looks classy and racy, yet functional without going over the top.
I guess in the end it's all personal preference and looks are totally subjective, but that's my opinion for ya!
