i just got a taffeta white sport, and plan on doing quite a few things...but my first question is..
anybody have rubbing issuses running a 16x8 wheel? i plan on ordering tanabe df120 springs, and rota 16x8 45 offset d2's...what tire should i run so i don't rub? would a 205/45/16 work?
I really don't want to lower my car and was wondering if anyone had 17's with 45 series tires? The 45's will fill in the wheel well about a half an inch and that is all I'm looking for so if you have this combo, please post a few pics.
Thanks!
Mark

i got same size wheels and offset with 205/40/17 tires on them and they rub under hard cornering or if i have 2-3 people in the back on stock springs. Will need to roll your fenders a bit if you plan on lowering.
same here........not on cornering but hitting bumps at high speed.
i don't think high speed hitting bumps has much to do with the rim size. thats just high speed hitting bumps. mine does that with the steelies... wouldn't matter as long as you don't change the overall diameter.
i think i could get the gf210s and be safe with the 17s if i keep the same overall diameter. anybody object?
16 x 7 +40mm offset konig heliums in bronze
falken zx-512 tires
tanabe gf210 lowering springs.
Do they rub? on some places. When i got passengers in the back (2 or 3 people) and i take a turn hard, yeah it does. If i take a turn soft, absolutely not no rubbing. If i am by myself? no i don't get rubbing and trust me, i take turns FAST. Oh and the rubbing part, its like 1mm that can EASILY be fixed by rollin the fenders. I just don't see the point of gettin bothered by 1mm. Just drive and enjoy how they look.
I ordered a set of Work Equip 01s, which should be here in a month or two. In the meantime, I fired up Photoshop to try to get a drop that I like with the wheels. I'd like to get some responses on what kind of springs can I get to complete this look. I'm thinking on these springs:
They are going to have Falken 205/50/15 tires on them...IMO chunky tires match well with the old school look. I'm already thinking rubbing will occur so I'm preparing to have the fenders rolled.
Thanks everyone!
**EDIT**
Photochopped some Volk CE28N on there too. Just for sh*ts and giggles.
I've been trying to read through here to see if anybody has successfully ran an 8 inch wheel, but come up dry...
I want to run 16x8 Bronze Rota D2's on Tanabe DF210 springs...but am unsure of what offset to go with, i don't want the wheels ot sit inside the fender, i'd like them to be flush...so i'm thinking a +40 offset, with 195/50/16's...
If i HAVE to, i'll get 16x7's...but i'd like the bigger lip...now if i go with the 7's, should i go with the same offset and tire combo? or would there be a better choice to get my wheels to sit flush with my fenders? (or close to flush, i don't want them setting in my wheel wells too much)
i just don't want to go dumping money on wheels that won't fit, or have major rubbing issues...its a DD car...
