my car is dropped on eibach sportline springs 1.8"F/2.0"R.
i just purchased and installed these 16x7 rota grids with a 40mm offset on Firestone 205/50/16 tires. I'm rubbing like crazy in the back even when i hit tiny dips or drive on uneven roads.
i went and asked a tire expert, and he told me to get two 205/45/16 for the back. i forgot to mention my car is lowered practically 2 inches all around.
my question is...
would these be the right tire specs even if my car is lowered 2 inches?
or
should i sell my 16 inch wheels/tires and go back to the stock specs?
i still want aftermarket wheels and tires though bc it looks so good!!

i was gunna go for those rims, but in 15x6.5. whyd you go for 16s and not 15s? sorry for not being helpful
i bought them new from a local houstonian off of our houston-import car forums. they're the navy bluish color. i got them for a really really good deal with brand new tires and brand new rims, so i just went for it w/o thinking of any problems that would occur. i learn my lesson though lol.. it looks really good and goes good with my ssm fit though, but man do they rub so much. i'll try to get pics by today or tomorrow.

yeah..that's what was recommended for stock mainly but just want to double check with tirerack or more sources off fitfreak since i'm practically lowered 2 inches all around
Here's a question if you are NOT lowering your car (i'm waiting for coilovers, but can't do without the rims i want for much longer.)
stock sport fit suspension, 16 inch rims (5zigen fnr-10c's) 42 offset.
i'd be running 205/45/R16's.
I figure no rubbing right?
what about with a slight drop?
thanks!!!!
it should be ok on stock suspension. that is the recommended tire size for 16's...
how much is a slight drop? i think you should be ok..maybe only rub on big dips.
oh yeah, i forgot to mention a working set
what worked:
Eibach Sportline(2 inch drop) with stock tire specs on 15" wheels worked out for me...no rubbing at all.
what doesn't work:
Eibach Sportline(2 inch drop) with 205/50/16 on 16" wheels w/ 40 offset...crazy rubbing in the rear. i rolled my inner fenders and still rubs in the rear.
do you guys think it would look weird if i kept my current tires in the front and went with the skinnier 195/55/16 in the rear, or can you not really see the difference??
the wheels i'm wanting are the same 16's like the HFP ones, the are 5zigens and they are a 16x7. But the offset is a 42, hence my concern. there is another forum member who has the same wheels, and he's using a 50 sidewall dropped on tanabe gf210's, he said he has rubbed going fast on bumps, and i figured that using the reccomended tire size and either being slightly dropped (like 1-1.5 inches) on coilovers or just rolling stock, i would do fine.
