sy11850, i'm running 205/50/16 all around, 16x7 40offset 4x100, with a 1.8"F/2.0"R drop on eibach sportline springs. i rub hardcore on tiny dips, uneven roads, and hard turns (which is everywhere i go in this city) in the rears especially. i rub so much that both sides of my back bumper are eventually going to come off lol.

if i were you, i'd go with the 205/45/16 or stick with the oem specs but in a 16" diameter all around just to be on the safe side. it's definite that you roll your fenders too.

you'll love 16" on the fit. it looks 10x better bc they're a little bit bigger.

Im not really good with wheel stuff, so i have a question about offsets. I went to look at some Rota Boost today and the shop had only 1 set left with +40 offset. Hes willing to give me a discount on it to get rid of it. My question is what is the difference between a +40 offset and a +45 offset. Does it really matter that much?

yes and no. you should be alright with the +40's. what size rims? 15" or 16"? are you lowered? if so, what springs?

caloyski5 will become famous soon enough
stock suspension + 15x7 +40 offset with 195/55/15 tires = doesnt rub if there are only 2 people in the car. rubs if 3 or more on dips and bumps.

Thinking of buying:

ROTA Torque rims 16" gold
16X6.5 4X100 ET45
pair of H&R 2.5cm spacers
in mint condition with Falken tires 215/40/16 + 1 extra Falken tire

Do you guys reckon I'll rub with stock suspension?

Tire calculator says overall diameter would actually be 0.2" less than my stock 175/65R14s so the only issue should be width.

Both of the applications you mention will work fine. Even with the car lowered you will still have the clearance you need. If I can help with the tires let me know.

15x7 with offset of 41 - will these rub with a drop?

I plan to do coilovers with adjustable height and damper, so I should be able to set it up so that it doesn't rub, right?

SBT,

You should be fine. You can run a 195/55R15, 205/50R15 or 205/55R15 with those wheels. If I can help let me know.

Yikes. Reading through this thread makes changing suspension and wheels seem really complicated!! I'm getting my car dropped on GF210's, does anyone have a good guess as to whether I'll have issues when carrying several people with the stock rims/tires? The drop is quite small, about 1"-1.5"

you shouldn't have any issues with rubbing, but you might have
issues hitting the bumpstops over bumpy roads if your buddies are
a heavy set.

rubbing occurrs mostly when you run aftermarket wheels and tires
because most wheels will have approx 15mm of wider stance than
stock per side (15mm closer to the fender vs stock). plus people
use higher perf tires which have bold shoulders. a 205 width tire
could be more like 215mm width in actual due to the shoulder design.

car manufacturers typically run conservative offsets because there are
some mountainous areas where you must use chains. that 15mm or so
gives enough clearance so that the chain does not hit the fender liners.

You just have to be careful with the width of the wheels and tires as well as the offset. If you are using stock wheels and tires you are good to go.

The offset should be around 42 to 45 and the tire size should be 205/45R16. The 205/50R16 is going to be too tall. If I can help let me know.
