so i should just have to roll my fenders? or how do i go about fixing this? i would like to do the job myself but if my wheels are gonna get tore up and i do not know how to do it i will have to pay a shop to do it.
if somebody could just point me in the direction of what i will have to do i can do the research on how to do it ;] thx
The wheels are just wide for the car. I would say stay as narrow on the tire as possible and run more negative camber. Check with a local speed shop or body shop for the fender lip roll.
If I can help just let me know.
okay thanks. i have a local speed shop i go to and will just have them install the springs and roll the fenders. already got the wheels on so cant really do anything about that now ;P i will let them fix it up for me tho, thanks for the info.
anyone know how wide you can go with tires?? i know alot of people are running 215/etc./etc but i kinda wanna go more wide like 225 for handling purposes.
Dropped on Skunk2's with 15x6.5 40offset Konig Heliums. Rubbing the fender liner. What exactly is the fender liner trick? I see a lot of people suggesting this. My "trick" was to just cut the offending liner. I'm wondering if I should move to the Progress springs?

im thinking of getting some 16x7 40 offset wheels i shouldnt have any rubbing issues should I? stock suspension not sure of tires yet.
If you pick the wrong tires you will have rubbing issues
Maybe 195/45x16 tires will fit if you have an 09. (expected since you are in the GD3 post section). Those are a full inch shorter than stock and the wheel is pushed out 13 mm, or almost 5/8". Even then its dicey. And if you drop nada.

Depends on what tires you run. You will probably have rubbing problems on 08's with 205/45x16 tireson 16x7/40 wheels; on 09's you will likely not have a problem with same setup because the stock tire changed from 55 to 53 mm offset.
You will be better off with 42 to 45 mm offset either case.

We would say 205's are the widest you can expect to go without modding the fenders but the real reason is that 225 wide tires are way too heavy and severely detract from your handling and your mpg.
The best tire / wheel combo we have found performance wise is 205/50x15 tires/wheels of the lightest ones you can find. Thats on a A/X type course and at VIR.
