You do realize that the width of a tire is not the only thing that makes it have good traction right?
I always suggest having two sets of wheels/tires. One for DD on the street that are comfortable and wear well. And another set that is agressive, maybe even R-comp if you can afford it, for autoX.

No. It will not fit. Its a small family car, not a SUV.

Sometimes I don't get owners(all car owners in general), they want performance but at the same time they also want the bling factor(17" or 18" wheels). You can't have both with the bigger wheel setup. If you want performance, go with a very lightweight 15" wheels. But if performance is not what you are looking for, then go with what pleases you. To each it's own.........

Have you ever seen an older Civic with 18's or even 19's? It looks rediculous. Not to mention how much your performance would suffer.

It's not my cup of tea, but they're alright. But I could garauntee you that if I saw a small car like the Fit with 18"ers I'd probably fall over laughing.
16's look real nice, IMO, with a 195 or 205/50 tire. I've seen a couple pics with those size tires on a 16" wheel and it looks classy and racy, yet functional without going over the top.
I guess in the end it's all personal preference and looks are totally subjective, but that's my opinion for ya!

However 18"s on a buzzbox? hmm.
I'd much rather go 16's, maybe lower an inch but get rediculously wide tyres.

Who are you guys? The fashion police?
He asked a technical question, and you guys come back and insult his taste! Real friendly.
Why should any new member join and ask a question when he/she will probably just get flamed.
The question was will 18's fit, not what do you think of 18's on a Jazz??
This is the type of thing that make forums unappealing to others. If the mods / admin are serious about attracting new members, they should be doing something about this type of threadcrapping.
This is true at the sametime. I personally have enjoyed having higher performance tires on my car at all times of the year depending on the season. I will be using the OEM wheels for snow tire installation, SW388 for DD and AX and another set for DD and possible shows if I decide to do that type of thing.
I also know that tire width is not about the traction. It all depends on the setup of the car with each component and tire selection. I just have noticed a better feeling in the car with the different sizes of tires on the older EG chasis. It allowed me to adjust the car to it full potential at the time. I am just looking for what people else where have been doing to their Fits and what not...

Thank you for that!
I have order my 18" anyway.
Here in sweden we have snow 5-6month per year so 15"-16 i god for the snow tires.

ok, the fit race car is running a stager. +45 in back, and +35 in the front. alternates 15 or 16in rim, just depends on what tires are good, more or less.

Factory Honda offsets for some reason are all really high, most around the 50mm range so going down to a 35mm means the wheel is gonna stick outward 15mm more then with the factory wheels so spacers are gonna be worse and not a solution. The best way to tell what range of offsets will work on a certain application is to look at the factory wheel. In the case of Honda wheels, obviously the wheel hub comes out towards the fender pretty drastically or else Honda wouldnt use such high offset wheels. Also if you do go lower with the offsets, to avoid tire rubbing issues you gotta run a more negative camber and more then likely roll your fenders.
