Please Help, Konig Heliums on 195/60/15

Hello,

I just spent 2 hours searching on the forum to try to figure this out:

On my fit sport:

I just ordered Konig Heliums 15 inch wheels,
I really want to improve the harsh ride and get taller 195/60/15 tires but for the life of me can not figure out if there will be rubbing issues. I know the original tires were 195/55/15 , so would 195/60/15 fit?
My car is not lowered and completely stock.

Please advise,
I have ordered the Heliums but still deciding on tires (hoping that 195/60/15 would be ok).
I also hope getting the lighter Heliums will improve acceleration a bit.

with that combo, your almost a full inch over on diameter, so your speedo and odometer are gonna be off. you could go with 185/60/15 without a problem, but on 6.5 width wheels, that may not be too good. your best bet is the stock size 195/55/15

yep. it's a little under an inch in increased diameter. You could run a 205/55/15, that would be a .5 inch increase in diameter.

i dont think you will have any rubbing issues bc of the tire, due to offset... maybe.

Just put on 185 60 15 Blizzak snow tires on stock rims--no problems.

the stock wheels are only 6" width, the heliums are 6.5", thats what i was talkin about. i dont think it'll be a problem, but i would ask someone that mounts or sells tires if its ok to mount a 185 width on a 6.5" rim

You could stick with the 195/55 and find some luxery comfort tires.

As an example my winter tires have a much harsher ride than my summer... ironically my winters are 195/55/15 Toyo Snowprox tires... my summers are 195/40/17's Continental ContiSportContact™ 2 Tires.

Before I had 195/40/17 Lexani Sh!t tires which sounded like the world was going to end with every jaring bump!

It is surprising how much the brand of tire will impact your ride.

I'm running Konig Next wheels which are 15"x7" with 205/55/15" Ventus HRII rubber with no problems at all.

Sid, i see that you are running 205/55/15 which according to the tire calculator has a diameter of 23.9 inches
the tire i am interested in 195/60/15 has a diameter of 24.2 (just slightly larger) do you think there will be enough space for it ( as I mentioned before i will be mounting those tires on Konig Heliums 15 inch, and my suspension is completely stock)

How much space is left considering that you are running the 205/55/15?

I am not that concerned about the speedo inaccuracy just want to try mounting that more comfortable tire.. lots of potholes here in colorado and want to make sure i have enough rubber between the tire and the konig heliums.
I will also weigh the original combo with the stock 15 inchers and Dunlops and then I will weigh the konig heliums and the new 195/60/15 inch tires... i also hope there will be some weight savings...

Hello,

Just wanted to report back on my fitment of 195/60/15 on konig heliums, everything fits nicely with no rubbing issues at all. The fit is tight though, the front wheels have about 1 finger clearance between the tire and the back fender. I guess with no suspension mods the max diameter tire you can safely fit on is 24.2 inches (which in this case is the 195/60/15).

The ride is vastly improved due to the larger tires and the wheel gap is not as obvious. The car does look a bit like an offroad buggy but the comfort is definitely there
