The OFFICIAL Fit Shoes Thead! (Lug Nuts Included!)

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!

Alright guys, after seeing the endless amount of posts on "Does this setup work? Will it rub?" and the reiteration of what actually works and what doesn't, I've decided to put together a MASTER LIST of wheel and tire setups so that anyone interested in getting a certain rim and tire combination can see here without having to search for a minute, giving up, then make a new thread.

LUG NUTS

First of all, to take care of the lug nut question, if you are looking for aftermarket lug nuts, you will need 12 x 1.5 lug nuts. For aftermarket wheels, you'll probably need a chamfered end (Acorn seat), but it depends on the wheel you've selected. Please inquire with the company you are purchasing your wheel and tire combination and they will provide you with the correct lug nuts for your new application. OEM wheels will require rounded ends (Ball seat). NOTE: ACORN SEATS AND BALL SEATS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE!!! Open and closed end lug nuts refer to the other end of the lug nut (The part everyone sees). Closed lug nuts have a covered end while open ended lug nuts (very common on tuner lugs) you can see right through and see the bolt you are tightening your lug nut onto. If you are still unsure or would like to purchase other lug nuts, the forum has excellent contacts from tirerack.com, A&J Racing, etc. just to name a few. PM them with your question and I'm sure they will answer you in a timely manner.

BALL STYLE LUG NUTS

Note the distinct shape at the end facing the wheel, it has a rounded end.

ACORN STYLE LUG NUTS

Note the 60 degree angle at the bottom, like a chamfered end.

Anyone who has aftermarket wheels and still have your stock wheels, please take a side picture of the stock lug nut for reference!

CAMBER BOLTS

These bolts adjust the camber of your vehicle. Don't know what camber is? Camber is measured as the degree of deviance from a 90 degree perpendicular alignment. In other words, negative camber means the tops of the tires lean towards each other, while positive camber means the tops lean away from the center.[1]

Before camber bolts:

After camber bolts:

HUB BORE & SPACERS

The hub bore for the Honda Fit is XX.Xmm (Need to re-confirm!). Some wheels will require hub centric rings installed with aftermarket wheels. Spacers extend the wheels outward when installed. They decrease the offset of aftermarket and stock wheels to either help clear your calipers or provide a wider stance to help handling.

If you have anything to add to this section, please PM me with your information.

WHEEL & TIRE SETUPS

For everyone who cringes at those tire numbers because they have no idea what they mean, fear not, here is a quick explanation for you! For example, 205/40/17, 205 indicates that the width of the tire is 205mm, the 40 is called the aspect ratio. It indicates that the sidewall width is 40% of the tread width. The 17 indicates the diameter of the wheel that it is mounted to. The larger the width, the more contact area you have with the road. A larger sidewall will help prevent curb rash on your wheels and will aid in comfort. If a letter is present before the diameter of the wheel, it indicates the speed rating of the tire. The further down the alphabet, the higher the speed rating.

OK, back on topic, if you would like to contribute your setup and what you've experienced, feel free to post in this thread WITH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IN THE FOLLOWING FORMAT ONLY! That way we can eliminate unnecessary banter and this thread can be easily searched by anyone. Once posted, I will copy your write up and paste it in this first post so everything is consolidated into one page. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. If you post up useless banter, I WILL DELETE IT! Please post your personal setup in the format indicated below:

Updated. Please be mindful of the size of your images. jeffquach's image size is PERFECT! I've included some of the larger ones from Mx6GT89 and SD_MR_FIT, but I'd prefer smaller sizes. I might resize them myself to keep this thread slim and trim.

You could have kept my pics as a link if you wanted too. I was going to re-upload them and turn them into a clickable link.

I was debating if I should leave the images as links, but I think it is more beneficial for people to see what each setup looks like without having to click multiple links

Illusive,
I just now read all the information you posted at the top of this thread. Thank you for doing the work. It is very well done, except your description of the tire size is wrong. In your example, you used the size 205/40R17. You stated that the 205 is the width of the tire in millimeters. This is correct. This first number is called the section width. You then stated that the 40 is the width of the side wall in millimeters. This is not correct. The "40" part of the tire size is called the aspect ratio. It indicates that the sidewall width is 40% of the tread width. To better understand my point, compare a 205/40R17 and a 275/40R17. Both aspect ratios are the same, but the height of the sidewalls are not the same. Hope this clears up any confusion. Once again, nice work.
