I just got 16" last week, and I am taking them back for 15"
ride is horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and loud
I am getting 15" Michelin Pilot A/S with 15's light wheels.
I believe the ride and road noise is mainly due to your tire selection, not the diameter of the wheel. A larger sidewall I believe (if anyone wants to correct me, please do!) will yield a better ride. As for road noise, that is dependent on the tire itself (materials, tread pattern, etc.).

When I had my 15" stockies, I did not feel every crack in the road, I do now.

What tires are you running?
